"I do believe that if there's any sort of 'facing off' then you'll be the one to do it." She smiled lightly as she slipped her gloves on, her ever present parasol swinging from her wrist. "After all, that's why you initially offered to go on walks with me, isn't it?"

In truth, he had strapped the Hidden Blade against his left forearm as with anytime he was going out. It had become a habit and Desmond knew how much it was telling about his becoming more and more like his ancestors. He had no intention of using it against the snowmen or Nutcrackers, but Altaïr had showed him how there was also thugs in this world and the blade was to be used against them if needed.
The swinging parasol on her waist caught his eyes and he almost smirked: he still wasn't entirely convinced Jessamine was such a damsel in distress. Still he kept that thought to himself and tilted his head on one side:
"And here I thought I was here for my exceedingly entertaining personality" he said, his lips curling into a small smirk.
Turning around and climbing down the stairs, he paused awkwardly as he waited for the blond woman. She was from the 19th century, right? Was he suppose to offer her his arm or something?

The parasol hit her side lightly so that her eyes flickered downwards but just for a moment. It wasn't that she enjoyed using her parasol, but ever since those vicious vegetables she had been cautious to be without it. Jessamine doubted that she would have to use it, but it was always nice to have if not for mere decoration.
A laugh escaped her lips - something she couldn't help after hearing Desmond's comment but she quickly stifled it. "Hmm, perhaps. Or it may just be that you are supposed to be making up for your earlier comment about my eating habits. She was about to start down the stairs when she noticed Desmond's pause and she smiled slightly.
"If you're wondering, offering me your arm would be lovely. I don't suppose people do that in your time any more?"
