And interrupted he was.

Angelina had been up rather early this morning to make sure she looked especially stunning when meeting her dear nephew. Turning the house upside down, she didn't even spare one second to think at what point it would disturb Grell. Not that any of it mattered now, when she was about to meet Ciel.

The proper visiting hours had barely started when Madame Red made a dazzling entry in the Phantomhive manor, or, at least, the second best thing - place that Ciel had decided to be his home in Somarium.

Now here she was, with no unnecessary preludes making way to her nephew, hugging him tightly, not even bothering about the book he was holding in his hands. "Oh, Ciel, I'm so happy to see you! And you indeed look fine! I'm glad!"

Ciel had, at times, describe the Madame as a 'red whirlwind' -- today she particularly lived up to this description, and it had been so long since he'd witnessed it, that it quite nearly caught him by surprise. The book was forgotten, if not squashed unceremoniously between them (a rather uncomfortable situation on his part), and all he could manage was a small, half-choked sound of protest.

It was so much like old times, that for once, the young earl was at a loss for words. She acted as she had before, as if Jack the Ripper had never been a part of her life.

"Of course I am. I told you that I was," he managed, half-squirming out of her embrace. Now he had a chance to look at her, and it was as though a day had not passed since their last meeting; as if perhaps she'd been on some long vacation. How could she behave so casually, after what had happened? Then again, Madame had proven herself to be a very good actress.

"You always say you are fine, even if that is not true. One can never be sure of anything when concerning you," Angelina half-seriously, half-mockingly replied, freeing the boy from her tight grasp, but still leaving one hand on his shoulder.

Taking in her nephew's fragile features, she couldn't help but feel a kind of motherly love towards the boy. This situation too much reminded Madame of the burning of the house and Ciel's return after that... But she mustn't think about that, this day is going to be full of joy not sorrowful memories.

"Tell me, Ciel, do you really have no memories of your previous time here?"

Do you really have no memories of your previous time here? So that's what this was about. Ciel closed his eyes, neatly smoothing the pages of his book, closed it, and set it on a side table.

"As far as I can recall, this is my first sojourn is Somarium." It was short, and to the point, typical of Ciel. Still... He didn't want to admit how much this fact bothered him. "There have been others who spoke to me as though we were acquainted, though I can't remember ever seeing them before. Sebastian himself spoke of my disappearance and re-appearance."

He paused, opened his eyes, and glanced up at his aunt. "And you, Madame. What do you remember of my previous stay?"
