While he'd been waiting for her to arrive, Arthur had finished drying up the floor, ringing out towels so the place was much less of a slip hazard before leaving the driest of the towels in front of the washing machine just in case. Satisfied, he gave the rest of the kitchen a tidy as best he could but he wouldn't be winning any award or gaining recognition for his cleaning skills today.
Maybe that man had been right - he might have to hire help eventually.
He'd just gone upstairs to quickly change into dry clothes when he heard the knock and jogged back down once his wet clothes had been left over a chair to dry and was at the door shortly, smiling.
"A pleasure to meet you in person," he said with a smile, rubbing Tarrento's nose when the horse snorted before he stood with his back against the door, holding it open for her. "Please, come in."
Angelina had been in the village a few times, having a peaceful walk when she felt like in a need of some silence, but she could have never imagined to live in this place - the city symbolized everything she was, the village was too calm. Now, standing in front of the door of one of the cottages and looking at the horse that seemed to fit in the country-side view perfectly, the woman started to understand why small villages seemed to lure some people more than big, urbanized cities.
The door opened and Madame lost her trail of thought, smiling brightly to the man in front of her.
"Pleasure is mutual," she answered to the greeting and entered, one last time glimpsing at the creature. "You have a wonderful horse. Did he came to this place along with you?"
While the cottage wasn't anything he was used to really, it was still more like what he knew than the city. That had been too loud, too busy and full of strange things that he didn't know the names of functions of. And there was nowhere for a horse to stay in the city either.
Following her in with one last scratch to Tarrento's nose, he shut the door behind them and smiled.
"Tarrento? I woke up here with him trying to eat my cape so he must have. Somehow. Useful to have for getting around though." He slipped past her, leading the way to the kitchen, rubbing the back of his neck. "Um, excuse the mess, still trying to figure out where to put everything just now."
Almost precisely month. Oh dear. If you still wish to continue this... here I go.rouge_bloodNovember 10 2010, 01:46:43 UTC
Angelina laughed lightly. "Well, your entrance sounds quite interesting. I am afraid, in my case it was rather ungraceful."
Following further into the cottage, Madame took in the surroundings and, evaluating everything, decided it would be quite lovely to live in a small house like this. Not permanently, of course, but it would be perfect for a peaceful, quiet summer residence in those rare but inevitable days when society is not welcomed.
Entering the kitchen, another laugh escaped her. "You're even worse than I was in the first days. Well, then, let's get this all cleaned up, so we can start preparing the meal. I do not guarantee it will turn out to be perfect, as I am yet just a mere novice myself, but it will surely be better than anything you might achieve today." Concluding it with another sonorous laughter, Angelina put down her bag of ingredients and started to clear out the space for them to work on.
