[Alice may have been less than pleased over the current situation with Takuma, but Valjean had already adjusted to the idea of his oldest adopted child moving out of the house and becoming an adult. As different as their small home may be without his presence, the vampire teen had promised to come over often enough for dinner and family time.
However, even if his worries over the move had been soothed quickly, the father was well aware that Alice was not so pleased. So it was really no surprise at all that he found his youngest sitting alone away from the house.]
Alice. [His eyebrows raise in concern.] My dear, you look ill. How do you feel?
[He has her repeat it a couple more times for him. Rather than frowning, his face stays calm and composed.] Do you feel a rattle shaking in your chest when you breathe? [He just wants some confirmation.]
[He leaves it in her mouth while he has a look in her ears and up her nose then pulls it out when she's done to read it.] Thank you, Alice. [He looks at her and looks into her eyes.] Do you know how long you haven't been feeling good?
I see. It looks like you have a case of the flu. [He gives her a little smile and reaches into his bag.] Alice, I'm going to give you a shot that will help you get better faster. Is that alright?
The flu? Is it bad? [Victorian child does not know what you are saying. She coughs again and her eyes widen at Hatori's next statement.] How will shooting me make me feel better?
You will be fine. You just need medicine and lots of rest. [He holds up the needle to show her what he's talking about.] A vaccination. The needle will poke your arm a little and put the medicine in your body. I can keep it from hurting.
I promise. [Taking her arm, he disinfects the injection site before sliding the needle in and injecting the drug. Pulling it out, he holds a cotton ball to her arm for a moment.] Did that hurt?
