Otonashi was up early today because he's continuing his job search. As he walked down the streets, he heard a few sets of coughing and then that hoarse voice that made him stop walking.
He turned his head, only to see a familiar figure that he first saw personally today. A small smile grew upon his face, raising one hand, he called over:
"... Is that you, Alice?"
Even though it was a question, his tone wasn't questioning. He knew that it was her. His eyes watched her in concern.
As expected, Alice didn't manage to go very far... So with that, Otonashi nodded to her and then started walking to the pointed cottage in the distance.
"Hold on a bit longer," he said, keeping that same smile.
No, she hadn't intended to go far. But he was correct in that she wasn't able to go far either. Alice coughed and rested her head on Otonashi's shoulder as everything still ached.
Otonashi can't help a faint startle at that. Then, that means her sickness must be peaking by now if she was taking it lightly for three days now. He just sighed quietly and then started walking faster to towards the cottage.
Eventually, he made it to the door and wondered if anyone was home. He would knock, but he's holding Alice. He looked around curiously, was there a doorbell?
"Oh... All right," Otonashi nodded to Alice softly and took the key with her permission. He moved to unlock the door with gentle movements before heading in.
"Excuse me," he said in that Japanese tone of his. It's only basic manners to say so when entering someone else's home.
Otonashi held her by the shoulder so that he could easily catch her if she would fall. He lifted his head up shortly and glanced around. Looks like no one's home...

"I'm dizzy."

"... How long were you feeling bad, Alice?"
Coughing and dizziness... They were sypthoms of a flu. But he still has to inspect her further to be able to tell fully.
