"Merlin!" A young man, looking somewhat frazzled and annoyed asked as he lead his horse through the village, bellowing at the top of his lungs. "Merlin you are the most useless, empty headed, lazy manservant I have ever known. If you don't turn up soon and explain where I am ( Read more... )

"Well that's handy indeed isn't it?" He smiled then because a tavern was at least something familiar and like home and the other outlying kingdoms of Albion ( ... )

With a roll of his eyes that Merlin would be proud of, Arthur gave Ezio a light shove. "I'm sure that in a day or two you'll be ready to throw me out to find a place of my own to live."

Wait until the bedroom floor disappeared because Arthur had dropped his wet towels and belongings all over the place without someone to pick up after him. Really, you were in for a treat Ezio.

"So you said this thing," he set his dreamberry down on the bar, "is for communication? How exactly does one go about that sort of thing."

Because he sure as hell hadn't seen anything remotely like one of those before and he favoured it with a look as though it might suddenly start biting him.

Which could happen. Stranger things had happened in Camelot after all.

"Only if you plan on causing trouble for me," he grinned again, knowing well that he had no intention of throwing the younger man out. If he found a place to stay then by all means. He would offer his home as long as that took though ( ... )

"I'll be trying to keep out of trouble as much as possible here so unless it comes looking for me, you won't have to worry." He took another drink and then smirked. "Besides, I'm trained to handle pretty much anything you can imagine ( ... )

He failed to mention that Altair sent messages via bird still, because it likely wouldn't pertain to Arthur unless the other assassin decided to send Mahdi while he was staying in the cottage. Those were only for secret assassin messages anyway, and the Dreamberry was honestly more convenient in dire situations. Obviously.

When given the look, Ezio could only grin. He had been the one giving OTHERS that look when he was told, so he found it terribly amusing if nothing else. He took another swig of his wine, then set it down to be refilled again,

"We'll see, amico. We'll see," was all he said on the matter of not dreaming.

Another use of that look as Arthur reached for his refilled mug again, looking down into the drink. What on Earth would he dream of? He didn't remember any of the dreams he had and if such things were shown on the device - and he was taking that with a huge pinch of salt - then he'd likely be as surprised as anyone else.

"How did you arrive here? Did you have any memory of the event or were you in your own home one moment and then suddenly here with no recollection of it?"

"I was doing something important," he said as he left everything as vague as possible for now, not wanting to divulge just what that something was yet.

"And when I fell asleep in a pile of hay I woke up here instead of there. Laying in some field in a world I do not know, it was strange...as you already figured. It seems that is common. But I heard that people have died and then just ended up here as well,"

"I've told you I'm a prince, you can at least give me some indication as to what you got up to in your time." The armor had Arthur thinking some sort of guard or military position - after all, that was the only reason to wear it because no matter how well it was made, the damn stuff was always heavy and uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.

"I was on my horse when I got here...when I left," and here his face might have turned a little red around his ears and cheeks but he quickly took a long drink, "I was with Guinevere."

And said drink almost went down the wrong way at the death part.

"Way to reassure a man Ezio."

He had a point. Ezio didn't bother lowering his voice, as anyone who saw his previous dreams knew what he was and the tavern was kind of loud anyway, "I am an assassin, carrying on the work my father couldn't finish before he died." that's all he really felt like saying. So now would be the good time to soften the blow with a joke, "Don't worry, I don't target princes."

He glanced over at the hesitation, grinning behind his glass, "A woman?" he assumed by the name. Not like he'd ever met a man maned Guinevere...at least he hoped he wouldn't.

"I'm sure you weren't dead, so there's no need to worry."

Well, that was reassuring to know. He assumed that an assassin was like a mercenary perhaps; he'd bear all that in mind and keep the sword within reach. Just in case ( ... )

"A little of both," he said vaguely again. He hoped Arthur was still catching his hints, this next one being that he really didn't want to delve into his past with a man he had just met. Doesn't matter how awesome you are, bro, you're not getting that much out of him tonight. "I have a few reasons to do it. Getting paid is a bonus,"

"A friend, hm?" Ezio smirked, shaking his head slowly. Lady troubles already, Arthur? ARE YOU HIM? "I'm sure she's fine as well. For all you know she may just end up here days or weeks from now...it's possible. But don't get your hopes up," since his dead family still wasn't here.

Ezio laughed, "Bene, what a thing to go back to if you weren't."

Arthur was catching those hints and that subject was off the table for the night: he'd found out what he needed and wanted to know for now and he could sleep a little easier. Or as easily as he was going to sleep given the circumstances but perhaps the alcohol would help with that.

"I'm not sure she would call us that but we're as friendly as we can be given the difference in our stations." Another little bit of throat clearing there. "For now...for now I think it best that they all stay in Camelot, where they should be. I know they're safe in Camelot."

Actually that raised a whole other question right there. "Maybe you can't go back if you're dead. Which brings me on to this: if we're here then do the people in our homes know that we're missing? Do we just vanish completely?"

Good man. Maybe later he'd divulge further, but it was a long shot considering only a few people he met here knew of Ezio's full history. and even then only Leonardo knew everything. He'd likely be the only person that ever did.

"I thought the same," and that's all he said on THAT matter, too. He really didn't know still whether or not he wanted his friends and remaining family here. He enjoyed spending so much time with Leonardo, but on the other hand he knew the other man would do far better back home where he belonged. Along with Paola and Rosa. Either way, he was confused on what he really wanted and it was likely it'd stay that way.

"I don't know. From what I've been told I can assume things just go on like normal...or at least that's the common idea. I don't think anyone really knows."

"Sounds like enchantment," Arthur muttered darkly and even if he didn't always agree with his father, it was things like this that still had him on the 'magic is evil' line of thinking. It was the only explanation that made sense to his mind especially if there was still an Arthur of some description wandering around Camelot and going through his daily routine.

He hoped that everyone was keeping their guard up then, just in case this other self had any malevolent urges in mind.

God this was all getting very heavy now wasn't it? So much for the tavern lightening his mood.
