FOLK DANCE somarium_lords September 26 2010, 22:22:30 UTC
[In one of the large fields adjacent to the central plaza, a large bonfire was burning and music was played with gusto. All around the NPCs were dancing together, some switching partners and other staying with each other. Some of them may even grab anyone watching from the sidelines. Though it was supposedly a "folk dance", it really looked more like they were just doing whatever type of dance that fit the music. Perhaps that was the tradition: freestyle.

So grab a partner and dance away!]

[Ahhh a bonfire~ Kida watched the dancers closely in the sidelines. He wasn't sure if he felt like dancing yet anyways.

Well, unless a pretty lady comes by soon.

And where was Anri-chan♥?]

[Spotting Kida on the opposite side of the bonfire, Izaya quickly made his way through the crowd-- by dancing. He grabbed the hand of some unsuspecting person and again when it was suitable to switch partners, until he reached the other side. He pulled himself away from the dancers and came to stand directly in front of Kida.]

Waiting for someone?

[AND his happy energy just went from a 100 to a 10.]

...I wouldn't say that. [Even if he was. LIKE HE'D TELL YOU.]

FIREWORKS somarium_lords September 26 2010, 22:22:37 UTC
[As the clock struck 9, large whistling could be heard from the direction of the floating mountain. For a moment there is silence before a loud BOOM echoed across Somarium, the brilliant colors of the fireworks illuminating the night sky. Soon more fireworks were released, some from nearby rooftops. For half an hour the fireworks displayed continued before the final, deafening finish.]

[While everyone else seemed amused and even amazed at the spectacle, there was one child staring at the scene in disgust. No, she wasn't afraid of the fireworks, she was just disgusted. Why? Well...]

Why would they use fire for their thingies? Iceworks would be much better!

[Apparently, it doesn't matter how ascetically pleasing something is; fire is still fire.]

[Dayum. You caught his interest, sweetie. Imagining ice exploding in the air and the pieces flying. A shiver went down his spine.]

That would...hurt, honey.

So does fire! Fire burns people, you know.

[and she's quietly watching from the outskirts, hugging Cheese-kun to her breast and staring up at the sky, the brief spout of fireworks]

Even after all these years, they are never the same.

I could do better. But I don't work for free. {Bored glance at his sparkly nails}

You've certainly made that abundantly clear.
[a chuckle, she glances back up the sky]
Remember when they were first so popular?

Well, I'm not quite that old. But I remember when they were all the rage in Europe. Along with exceptional drugs and ridiculous fashion.

[The fireworks were AWESOME. Max watched with wide eyes, the bright colors and loud explosions reflecting off his oversized glasses]

[she approaches Max silently from behind, smiling to herself before grabbing his shoulders. The intent here is, of course, to surprise him, since he's so totally adorable into those fireworks.]

[Sebastian stepped outside the mansion long enough to inspect what was going on, watching the fireworks and the crowds dispassionately]

[Oh, dear. Caught in the act. This will not do. Sebastian bowed to the stranger in greeting]

I would not insult our hosts - they have been most generous in their hospitality.

[Translation: yes, these fireworks are both annoying and wasteful, but Sebastian is back to playing his role. Flawless]
