[There is a pale skinned alien smirking cheerfully down at you from his seat up high, dangling his legs and hiding himself under an umbrella.]

It was a pumpkin.

[He turns then, his eyes seeking out the speaker - there is a moment of confusion as he seems nowhere to be found - until his gaze strays upwards and then there is the spark of surprise, his eyes still focused on a point that does not quite reach the other.]

See, he's a little miffed, surprised, and caught off guard at the moment. Any other time perhaps she simply would have gotten a quiet "I'm fine" in response, but today there's an almost clear look of annoyance there when he stops trying to rub pumpkin out of his eyes and turns to look at the speaker instead.]
