The Prince had decided to give his newest friend a visit, if only to make sure she was adapting well to this world. But in truth, he wasn't that worried about it. Throughout their walk around this world, Aerith had proven to be a very optimistic person and she truly seemed determined to make worth her time in Somarium
( ... )
Aerith had gotten a few plants up with relative ease, so she had been fairly confident nothing would happen with this one. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and she would have been fine if she hit the ground honestly. Worst case scenario being she suffered a bit of a sore backside.
When she didn't land on the ground though, she looked up at the man, wincing at the sound of the pot crashing. To be honest, she was more worried about the plant now than she was herself. That didn't stop her from smiling up at Dastan with a small hint of pink along her cheeks. Embarrassed mostly from falling in general, "I'm fine!" she chirped, "But I don't think my flowers are." now she just looked disappointed, and tried to lean herself up a bit so she could see the mess that had been made.
With that and the five or six pots Snow had broken earlier, she was already running low. "Looks like I'll have to buy some more already..." She sighed, patting the man on the chest, "Thank you, Dastan."
Once he was sure Aerith had gain her balance back, Dastan let her go, nodding slightly:
"You are welcome, Aerith."
He then saw her disappointed expression and he frowned lightly, crouching down to help her with the broken pot.
"Can you not grow them instead of buying them?" He knew nothing about plants, but it seemed to make more sense to grow the flowers instead of buying them before selling them to someone else.
The Prince stopped gathering the spilled soil, thinking of how to cheer up the young woman. Wiping the dirt on his pants, he reached the little package of seeds he bought her.
"...Here...I...I thought you might like them. They are called 'Persian Buttercups'. They grow naturally in my world..."
"I do grow them, silly." She chuckled, moving the now homeless flower to a spot where it wouldn't get stepped on before gathering up the pieces of the pot. "I have a little patch in a field in Espoir thanks to Malik." She pointed in that general direction now, "And I bring them here to sell." duuuuh, Dastan.
She looked up in time to see the package of seeds, taking them from the man and blinking down at the image on the front. They did look beautiful. She smiled up at him afterward, "They're lovely. I'll make sure to plant them as soon as I can. I'm sure everyone will love them." She moved away to set the seeds in a safe place, then returned, brushing her own hands off again.
"But I meant I need to buy more pots! A lot have broken already today."
Since he doesn't ever sleep, Alphonse has been spending a significant amount of time at the library. He often brings back piles of books and waits until Aerith has already gone to bed before cracking them open. By the morning, he'd already be bringing the entire stack back to the library again.
Today, he gets up early as always and spends an hour or two in the library as always, and carries a huge pile back to the flower shop, ready to help out.
"Good morning!" he says cheerfully, sitting the pile down on a nearby table. "Reporting for duty!"
Aerith more or less just let the armor-clad boy do his own thing. She wasn't his mother, and couldn't really object to him going out to the library for most of the day. She was still curious about his whole...armor thing, but had yet to mention it. So far he hadn't taken the thing off, and she was starting to think he couldn't for one reason or another.
She turned with the greeting, smiling warmly at him as he came up to the shop, "Good morning, Al." She hopped down from the stool she had been standing on, hanging plant still in hand, "Just in time. I can't get this up on the hook. Do you think you could get it for me~?"
And Al was pretty darn glad that Aerith wasn't questioning him. Despite the time he spent in the library, he always made sure to get back with plenty of time to help out at the flower shop. He'd offered to help out, after all.
"Of course!" Fortunately, his giant body was perfect for reaching high places and carrying heavy things. He took the hanging plant from her hands and easily placed it on top of the hook. "How has your day been?" He asks as he does so.
Was it really any of her business? Not really, and he didn't seem to have a problem being...stuck in it, or whatever. So she wouldn't worry about it much. Besides, it WAS convenient that he could reach such high places and carry things that she normally wouldn't be able to.
"All right. Though earlier Snow tore through here on his motorcycle and knocked a bunch of my pots over. I'm going to have to get some more. Other than that--" she shrugged, looking up at the hanging plant with a look of approval, "What about you?"
[It's been a week since Anton's arrived in Somarium, and slowly, he's began to adjust. As much as he hates being away from Folsense... there's a part of him that's secretly glad, to be free of the monotony.
He's just taking a walk through Somni when he notices Aerith and pauses, looking over at her work. It's comforting to be able to simply mingle among others--a luxury he hasn't had for a long, long time.]
[Ty Lee was on her way back to her tent from Beat's apartment but decided to take a quick peek around the shopping district. The flower shop catches her attention and she figures what better time than now to stop and smell the roses?]
[ A lovely pink aura? How fabulous they will be. ]
It's all right if they're going to a good home. [ nods. ] I did, they're doing really well in the fields, actually. I'm glad I can grow so many different kinds.
[ With that she was gone, vanishing into the shop and returning a few moments later with a bouquet of various flowers, all pink or white. And a single red rose in the center. ]
Here, try and give her these. I'm sure she'll love them.
