Estelle had spent her full day in the library, reading and looking for new books to devour at night when she couldn't sleep. When the building had closed, she had left the city, walking slowly because if the mount of novel nestled in her arms ( ... )

The Princess had been on the verge to finally scream when the whistle was heard. She saw how instantly the beast had halted, its stance relaxing enough to be picked up by the girl. Estelle looked up at the direction of the sound to only see white hair in the shadows. She frowned, confused by the sight, until the man came out of the darkness ( ... )

She wasn't running away screaming for a mob to come and lynch him. That was a good sign, right? For Drizzt, he'd take it. It seemed as if the girl had just been startled, and he couldn't blame her. He maintained a relatively good distance, not wanting her to be startled again just by looking at him. She seemed more interested in Guenhwyvar than him. Maybe for the better.

He gave a soft smile, half chuckling as he rubbed the panther's head, "She's a panther." He offered quietly, "A good friend of mine, and I promise she means you no harm." She's just a little...protective, and wary and still getting use to the surface. On that note, he motioned for the beast of a cat to move toward the girl slowly, "You can pet her if you wish." If it would stir the conversation into a less awkward direction, then he'd try it.

Guenhwyvar just obeyed, moving toward Estelle and flopping down at her feet with a mighty thud. Rubbing her head against the girl's leg with another purr. What a spoiled brat.

Drizzt kept himself hidden in the shadows, surprised the man had even heard him at all. He had to sit and debate on what to do now. Whether he dare approach, or just sit and wait for the man to leave. He needed answers though; like where he was, or how he got here. He motioned for Guenhwyvar to stay where she was, hidden in the tall grass still, ready to move when Drizzt commanded.

Slowly he moved out to reveal himself, his hair and his eyes standing out even in the night.

Round one: The reaction to a drow. Let's see how this goes.

He recognized those signs. The man was hesitant and defensive, skeptical. He didn't know what he was looking at, which was strange to Drizzt. Everyone knew what a dark elf was. he was use to this reaction, too use to it, in fact.

"I am Drizzt Do'Urden, a Drow hailing from the underdark." which must have been jibberish to the other man, "I mean you no harm, truly. I simply wish to know where I am...or how I arrived here."
