Draco stared down at Cain, hands in his pockets, rather boredly. However, it wasn't every day he was given such ample opportunity to mock; whether he would take it immediately was beyond him. Certainly, it would happen at some point, but perhaps he would lure Cain into a false sense of security first. After all, he hadn't seen him in a while.

"You alright, then?" He asked, tipping his head slightly, "Or are you just going to lie there all day?"

Cain winced, feeling his face pull in a scowl at the sound of a familiar voice.

Edging his hand a little out of his eyes, he tentatively glanced up again, making out light hair and dark clothes.

"No," he groaned, realization setting in. Not here. It was just a dream before.

Maybe he was wrong on that score. Was this hell? His assumption might have been a little different if Draco Malfoy had not been the first to greet him.

"'No' what?" Draco echoed, smirking slightly. He could tell as well as anyone that Cain was rather unimpressed at his appearance - just the reaction he had been looking for, actually, though he was sure Mille would later have his head for terrorising people.

"You usually have a bit more of a retort for me. Feeling a bit under the weather, are we?"

"It's not your concern," Cain breathed, not sure how far his voice carried. He really didn't have the will to argue with Draco.

He forced himself into a sitting position, never mind the pain that raced down his back, and the throbbing in his head. "Why am I here now?" Cain voiced the thought aloud.

Alice stood over him, it was almost surreal that she had her arms wrapped around Basil and a flower crown atop both their heads as she gazed down at Cain. Her head blocked the light of the sun. A small smile came on her lips as she knelt down next to Cain and pulled his hand away from his eyes and kissed his brow.

"Hello again," she smiled as she just sat next to him. Her small pale hand moved and shielded his eyes. She frowned when she noticed the wince of pain and bit her lip.

"Should I call a doctor Cain?"

Cain struggled to open his eyes again, vision blurred for a moment. He breathed in flowers, blinking until her face was no longer a white glow, but the girl had features again: pale, concerned eyes, soft mouth, blonde hair.

Absently he reached out and touched the ends. His fingers were dirty, and Cain thought to apologize for that. Instead, he let his hand fall away, arm sinking back down into the grass.

"This place," Cain sighed.

But it was preferable to the alternative, wasn't it? To be alive - that was reassuring...wasn't it?

With a force of will, Cain pushed his hands against the ground, forcing himself into an uncomfortable sitting position. He breathed through his nose, clamping his mouth shut. Then he glanced over at Alice once more.

"You remember what it's like, don't you? When you're supposed to be somewhere, and you wake in an entirely different place." He was trying to comfort the girl and ignore his own discomfort, but he added with a humorless laugh: "My head is spinning."

Even if Cain was trying to comfort her she couldn't help but notice his pain and his comment did not assuage her discontent about his state of health. She turned Basil into his dreamberry form and was beginning the task of calling one of the many doctors she knew. However she stopped and gazed up at him.

"Where... did you go? Did you go back home?" she asked with some concern as she moved to sit next to him. "Cain, you need to see a doctor. You look like you're in pain. Does something else hurt? Are you injured?"

Her questions only tempted Cain to ask a number of his own. An explanation would satisfy him far more than bandages and a sick bed.

Why had he returned to Somarium now? How much time had actually passed while he was away from the "dream world"?

But the next question was even more pressing than previous speculation, and so Cain asked aloud with no small urgency. "Merry. Is she here?"
