"You're telling me," Danny agrees cheerfully, walking towards him from the side. "I still can't tell if it was a prank or an accident that they got those colors that way."
Shooting Hiccup a grin--for he can afford to be cheerful, after having easily flown there, instead of walking--Danny makes a 'follow-me' gesture. "Come on, the trashed-car lot is this way."
... Well, he seemed nice enough. Hiccup probably seemed pretty tired compared to Danny though. He grinned back and let out a nervous laugh. "Either way, someone had way too much time on their hands." No one painted their houses like that in Berk. They would be huge targets, and the paint would be ruined the second the house burnt up, obviously.
He was actually getting kind of excited to see the junkyard. Mind you, he had no idea how he'd get it back to the workshop he found, but he wondered just how much of a supply this place could give him. If there was enough, there was a lot more he could do then just fixing stuff for his pet. He nodded, ready to follow. "Ok. Lead the way."
Danny snorts in agreement, sending the strange building one last look. "Yeah, that's for sure."
"Okay." That much encouragement is all Danny needs to resume walking, leading the other boy around the corner and down the sidewalk. As he goes the buildings around them become less crowded, though no less gritty. Danny continues, ignoring all of this: he knows where he's going, and that's what matters.
"I'm sorry that this place had to be so far out, by the way," Danny says suddenly, looking mildly uncomfortable. "I wasn't sure what you wanted, and this is usually where I go for stuff like that."
"It's ok. I didn't expect that getting scraps would be convenient." He says that, but he still had to walk for hours! Well, if it was the only place to get good, big scraps, then it would be worth it. Hiccup's still looking all around the place, noting the opening space with noted curiosity.

"So, what do you usually need scraps for?"
