It wasn't long before Lelouch set foot in the place that a cold voice came from behind him.
"I was wondering when the great emperor himself would show up."
Asch was behind him (he had a rather odd habit of doing that...), leaning against one of the columns along the edge of the ballroom. He was dressed rather handsomely himself, though the fact the fact that his arms were folded over his chest and his eyes were narrowed at Lelouch took away from how regal he managed to make himself look despite the simple design of the outfit.
Asch was pissed, and it was clear who the reason was.
Lelouch spun around at the voice behind him, a rather irritated look on his face at the words he heard. He frowned slightly at the sight he found. Who was this man to speak to him like this? And what was the reason he had for speaking in such a tone?
Lelouch quickly adjusted the look on his face before Asch had time to notice any trace of a frown and smiled a rather charming smile, "Ah... Asch. Lovely to see you here. You look quite nice tonight. It sounded like you had been waiting for my arrival; may I help you...?"
Oh, but Asch noticed; he was studying Lelouch rather carefully, more so than he had when he had dubbed the emperor "creepy". The frown from Lelouch brought a brief, rather smug look on his face before his expression returned to what it was before. He pushed himself off from the column, his hand resting almost casually on the sword hilt (that he thankfully had retained with the outfit change) at his side as he approached, stopping at a comfortable distance.
"I need to speak to you about something," he stated, his tone not changing. "Preferably in private."
Lelouch kept a serious face but he was smirking on the inside. He was rather curious as to Asch's behavior, making note of the smug look on his face and the hand on his sword.
"Whatever it is you have to say to me, Asch, cannot be said in this ballroom? Is it truly that important that you must have me alone to say what you need to say?"
Lelouch looked about the grand ballroom, noticing many guests he had never seen before and some that he had become rather fond of.
He noticed a rather well dressed man looking about the ballroom. He had never seen this man before and decided this was a perfect opportunity to become acquainted with him. With a charming smile on his face he walked up to the man, "Ahh... This place is quite exquisite, isn't it?"
Lelouch held the charming smile on his face as he gave the man a quick once-over. He was dressed rather well, held himself in a respectable manner - he was worth getting acquainted with. Though that laugh was slightly... Well, one can look past something like that if becoming acquainted with the person was beneficial in the long run.
Lelouch laughed a bit, "Mm, forgive my manners, I do not believe we have met before." He extended his hand and bowed slightly, "Lelouch vi Britannia, and you?"
It reminded her of some sort of fairy-tale. The horses did indeed have wings and above the castle seemed all but nonexistent. Chuckling to herself, she lifted the skirts of the long, ruffled black lace of her dress and stepped out of the carriage; twisting a strand of long, lime-colored hair. It was pinned half-way up; braided in the back until it was clipped by a lacy black ribbon. The faintest traces of make-up added color to her cheeks and eyes; make-up that was hardly needed when compared to the natural grace she possessed. Heels clicking faintly on the floor, the witch glided across the room, hands touching the sides of a pillar before sliding it limply to her side; eyes taking in the dazzling drop below.
Lelouch walked up behind the woman with the lovely green hair and wrapped his arms around her, smiling to himself. He hadn't been able to see C.C. in quite some time and he was absolutely thrilled that she decided to show herself tonight.
"My, my... It sure is quite a treat to see you here, you lovely witch. And, might I add, you look absolutely splendid."
C.C. blinked once or twice at the sudden pressing of another against her. Turning slowly, her once stoic expression melted slowly with a warm, relieved smile. "Is it? Well, well, aren't I honored then?" She said with a chuckle, squeezing his hand and smiling fondly at him. "As do you, though I suppose I should expect no less from you." It settled so many of her anxieties to see him again. She couldn't deny that it felt right being there, at his side once more.
Lelouch held out his hand and grinned rather devilishly, "Shall we proceed into the grand ballroom, my dear? At some point this night, I would like to go with you and chat for a while. We have not had the opportunity to be together in quite some time. I still feel as if we are not quite on the same page..."
It was curiosity that had come over Lloyd when he had climbed up the carriage left in front of the small cottage he had chosen as home in Espoir. It had been that same curiosity that had kept him looking over the ledge of the cart when flying, taken in his new surroundings before watching with awe the approaching castle.
Lloyd couldn't hide his amazement as the Pegasus touched down in the courtyard. The castle was even more magnificent than the one in Meltokio. He watched as other carriages arrived, watching the elegant people walking with regal and he felt suddenly underdressed. Until he finally noticed his magical change of clothes. The young man was now dressed in a dark suit and vest, an off-white dress shirt topped by a silky red scarf.
Standing as straight as possible, remembering his experience with the noble in Meltokio, Lloyd walked in the castle, looking for friendly faces he already knew, or ones he should be meeting.
Lelouch felt the presence of another person behind him as he stood admiring the splendor of the grand ballroom. He quickly spun around and smiled charmingly, "Ah, forgive me for being in your way. I was just admiring the absolutely gorgeous ballroom. It's quite elegant. This is truly a gorgeous sight, isn't it?"
Lost in his admiration of the ballroom, Lloyd had not seen the man in front of him and would have bumped him if Lelouch had not hailed him.
"Ah.....yes...it is."
Lloyd looked at the man in front of him only to determine that he had never seen him before. But it was easy to see that the young man was not lost in all such splendor and grandeur. It was as he was belonging here...or to another castle, really.
"It so much bigger than the only castle I've seen" Lloyd added with a smile. "I wonder if there is a King and Queen living here as well?" he pondered out loud.
It had been a smoother ride than he expected, but being such an independent person, he wasn't accustomed to putting his life in the hands of... an animal.
Kaname stepped out of the compartment and his eyes immediately widened at the site of the castle. As expected, it was much larger than it first appeared from the ground below. There certainly was quite a bit of magic present in this world.
He didn't recognize anyone else stepping out of carriages or hurrying into the grandiose establishment. As he made his way up the steps and inside, his mouth fell open just a little at the sight of the amount of people that lived in Somarium.
Lelouch walked up beside his new acquaintance and smiled, "Isn't this place absolutely marvelous? You look rather shocked, have you not seen such grandeur before, Kaname?"
Kaname raised an eyebrow at the question, wondering if such arrogance even warranted a response. Smiling politely, he greeted his new friend with all of the necessary formalities he'd practiced since centuries before.
"Lelouch-san, it's nice to see you again," his hand smoothly shot out for the other man to take. Chuckling, he tilted his head to the side just a bit. "Grandeur, I've grown accustomed to... but in my world, we don't fly around in chariots that are toted by pegasus. Nor have I ever attended a party in an establishment that was floating on air."
[ooc: don't worry, lelouch is pretty damn arrogant too]
Lelouch shook Kaname's hand and bowed slightly, "Ahh, forgive me. I know nothing of the world you come from. Some of my acquaintances here have never seen such grandeur before... But, yes, the pegasus are quite a sight. I don't believe I've ever seen anything quite like them before."
