Kazuki grinned. "But it's more fun to practice outside, where others can hear you. Isn't music about making people happy, anyway?" He had his trumpet in one hand, waiting until they found a good spot to start playing, and his mouthpiece in the other. Getting his lips stuck to a frozen piece of metal wasn't a promising start to an impromptu concert, after all.
The response earned a sigh from Len. Of course that's why they were out here. Len himself had only just begun playing for enjoyment, so the idea of playing in the freezing cold wasn't high on his list.
"Right," he replied, tone flat and almost irritated. "If my violin gets damaged in any way, I'm holding you responsible." He rolled his shoulders and finally looked away from the older boy. It might turn out well, but Len wasn't exactly counting on it. He'd mostly kept to practicing alone, after all.
"It'll be fine, it'll be fine, trust me!" Not exactly the most assuring words, considering who they were coming from.
Kazuki saw a nice, flat place, where the two of them could be seen from quite a distance, and trotted over to it. "Here we go, Tsukimori! This spot'll be great!" He put the mouthpiece in the trumpet, and tooted a little run, just to announce their presence, and make sure his trumpet was still warm enough to play.

Len wasn't surprised by Kazuki's words. He had expected him to say something along those lines. His eyes trailed after him when he moved to the newly chosen practice space. With a pause, he followed in suit.
Instead of responding to him, he knelt on the grass and opened his violin's case. With deft and practiced precision, he had the instrument prepped quickly and properly. Despite Kazuki's outgoing view on things, Len himself was hoping not to attract an audience.
The weather outside today was rather decent, in Austria's opinion, and it would have been a shame to stay inside the entire day. Though he certainly did enjoy, to say the least, staying in and practicing the works of his composers, venturing outside to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight was also nice. Now, Austria wasn't exactly the most directionally gifted person in the world; he could get lost nearly anywhere, really. After having been in Somarium for as long as he had, though, finding his way around Espoir had become somewhat easier (Somni, however, was a different story entirely).
While out walking, Austria noticed Hihara and some other boy standing with him. Figuring it would be rather rude to ignore someone he had spoken with quite a few times beforehand, Austria walked up to the two. He nodded in greeting to Hihara and then turned his gaze to the other boy's violin case.
"You play the violin?" he asked, trying to see if there was any hint of the violin's maker on its case.
Ohai der, Austria. Have Kazuki butting himself into the conversation.
"Hi Austria-san! This is Tsukimori-kun! He's one of my classmates!" He figured he should introduce them, since he knew both of them, after all. He grinned that stupid grin of his, trying not to piss off his housemate with constant babbling.
Len didn't notice Austria until he nodded at his upperclassman and only then was it a glance. Kazuki was friendly, after all. It wasn't any surprise that they would run into someone he knew. Social graces and all that. But his words sure got Len's attention.
He opened his mouth to respond bluntly, but was silenced by Kazuki's introduction. It was probably better that way. He was almost thankful for it. "Nice to meet you. And yes, I do."

Well, butting into the conversation was never really considered polite in any society Austria was familiar with, but he assumed it probably wouldn't do much to complain about it. After all, in the short time he had known Hihara, he had learned that the boy tended to be rather... enthusiastic about most things, be it conversation or music or anything else. Not to mention that the other boy didn't seem all too bothered by it, as far as Austria could tell (granted, Austria was not the best with people, so he could be completely off with his assumption and he would be none the wiser).
"It's nice to meet you, as well, ah... Tsukimori, I take it? After all, having more musicians around, especially those that play string instruments, is always a good thing," he responded. "As Hihara has said already, my name is Austria."
