She had been outside for most of the day-- even in the cold weather. After a few days of searching, she had found a small patch of green in the lawn, cleverly hidden beneath a tree. She would have come inside earlier, but Yuan had seemed so intent on something-- so busy! She doesn't want to bother him...but it really is cold.

After she convinces herself that she wouldn't be a pest by going inside and getting a blanket, Martel opens the door of the cottage.

"Yuan?"

At that moment, Yuan had been in the midst of trying to light the candle again. He never really understood how the lighters work, so trying to aim an orb of fire at a tiny wick was proving to be problematic. His brows furrowed, and he had just about achieved his goal, when he heard the door open.

Save for the unlit candle, mostly everything else had been finished--including the dinner, that was still in the kitchen, warm, and ready to be taken out once he figured out how to light that godforsaken--

"...Martel?"

She watched him curiously, peeking around the well planned room. It was lovely-- Yuan seemed to have put a lot of thought into the room's design. Suddenly, it slapped her in the face-- today was special.

....no wonder he had been so busy. Despite knowing he might try to prevent her from helping him, she happily placed a calm hand on his, and helped him light the unlit candle.

"It looks wonderful," she murmured with a sweet smile. "You did all of this?"

He said nothing for a few moments, allowing the words to process before he allowed her hand to guide his. She always had had a steadier hand than his. And a knack for doing the simplest things in the most elegant ways. Even before he had grown attached to her, he had been jealous of that simple fact.

"It's nothing, really," he said shortly, gaze off to the side as he spared a glance back at the kitchen. "It didn't take too long."

Which was an obvious white lie, considering they both knew how much work he had put into it that day.
