When she heard her name, Sunny's shoulders jolted slightly, not recognizing the person's voice at first, but when she turned around to look, she smiled.

"S-Snake!" She did get up, and she thought of running to meet him for a second, but the fact that she was facing one of her two guardians whose age had gone down for some unexplained reason was still a bit too confusing for her. Seeing him for real for the first time made it feel even more odd.

Sunny nodded a bit, still not moving to meet him and staring at him with wide eyes. She hadn't ever seen nanomachines that could completely change a person's appearance like this, but maybe she just never heard of them yet. That was the only explanation she could even begin to understand at the moment.

"Wh-what happened?"

Gale paused at seeing the young child alone in the park. Despite Bat's "treaty", he wasn't one to trust the former Maribel so quickly. He came closer, allowing himself to make noise to alert her to his presence. Experience with Fred taught him that stealth was never an option when a child was involved.

Especially when you meant to earn their trust.

"You are here alone?"

She turned around to see who was talking, and almost instantly started backing away slowly. This was the first time in years that a stranger had approached her while she wasn't in the company of an adult that she already knew...

"W-wh-who are y-you?"

She was already afraid. Had he approached her wrong? Gale paused for a moment, unsure of how to proceed.

"My name is Gale. And you are...?"

"S-S-S-Sunny..." The young girl's stutter had come back in full force along with her nervousness.

Danny is walking past, head bowed and a very empty backpack on his back. Another unsuccessful search--there's got to be something simple that he's missing. If he'd known it would be this much of a bother to find, he would have asked for a different goal...

When movement in the corner of his eye distracts him from his thoughts, he looks up in time to catch a little girl in the act of checking her Dreamberry. Uh... hold on--since when does Somarium have girls that young? She's probably older than she looks--yeah, she's got to be. Danny even looks away again, before the idea that she might not be older rudely elbows its way in. If she's really that young, and as obviously alone as she is...

... It can't hurt just to make sure she's okay. Either she is or she isn't, right?

Leaving the sidewalk, he takes a few steps towards her, calling, "Uh, hey there."

As Sunny looked behind her to see who was talking her, she was surprised when it turned out to be a teenager. It was obvious from the moment he spoke that he wasn't Snake, because his voice was much different. A person who was that close to her age couldn't be too much of a threat, right?

"H-Hi."

Indeed.

Danny stops when he's a comfortable-ish speaking distance away, getting right to the point. "Hey--you, uh, aren't alone, or anything, are you? I mean, are your parents around?"

"A-ah..." She frowned, not really wanting to tell someone else that both of her parents were dead, so she picked another way to answer. "Th-they aren't here."
