Polka was fast asleep in her room in the cottage.

That was until she heard the loud crash.

"What was that?", she muttered in a half sleepy voice, looking around her before clambering out of her bed.

She hadn't even noticed the storm outside yet.

Then she heard Frederic call her voice, and got concerned. Was he hurt by whatever smashed just now?

"Frederic! Where are you?" she called, her voice barely made it audibly from her throat, due to it feeling oddly dry now.

This was getting worse. Much, much worse. Frederic had a hand up to his mouth and nose, trying to keep dust and sand out of his lungs. It was already starting to effect him by the time he got to Polka's room and he started coughing. He opened her door to find her... standing near a window. A very harshly rattling window.

"Polka, get away from there!" Frederic acted fast, running over to her and trying to firmly, but gently, lead her away from the window before it inevitably gave way.

Polka was slightly shaken by the sound of his voice, but listened to his words and followed his lead away from the window's loud and rattling noise.

"Wh-What is going on?" she uttered, very afraid, trying not to look behind her to see if the window has smashed or not.

And then she saw the sand, swirling around them. She hadn't even noticed it until now.

Her right hand covered her mouth and nose as quickly as she could. This was one day she wished she had bought a umbrella!

"I wish I knew." Thank goodness he managed to get her away in time, but now there was the problem of the cursed wind and sand! He lead her back to the door, trying to think of any rooms he knew of that had no windows. "

In the meantime though... Both of them didn't have to suffer the sting of the sand.

"Here." He wrapped the coat he had grabbed around Polka's shoulders, so it would hopefully protect her from the sand a lot better then her normal clothing.
