At this time Rena happened to be passing through, coming back from a quick trip to Somni. She knew that eating wasn't necessary here anymore, but it felt weird to her to not eat something everyday. Thus, Rena always liked to have some food lying around the house in case she ever felt the desire to eat. Which is why she happened to be carrying a a small bag of groceries. Someone with a good sense of smell (*cough cough*) might be able to pick up some meat in said bag of food.
Rena didn't notice Toboe sitting against the tree yet, though she could of sworn she heard something like a dog's howl. But maybe she was just hearing things.
1/2 ROFL You did it for real XD <3grannyswolfAugust 16 2009, 17:46:58 UTC
He smelt something tasty - a meat perhaps? Of course, it wouldn't taste better than raw meat he would have to hunt for. But he once ate some before, and to be truthful, didn't taste that bad at all.
So he gets up from his spot, and peeks around the trunk. Oh, a human girl! She must have gone shopping and bought the meat.
And he was bit hungry... it wouldn't hurt to ask her for some!
But he knew from past experience that a human boy asking for food didn't play out so right. So he trots up to Rena in his wolf form and barked few times to get her attention.
Who knows, maybe she's super nice and will give him a pat on the head.
He thought he had smelled a familiar scent. He had caught the wolf's scent before he heard the all too familiar howl. Of course he hadn't believed it at first. The runt had...
Dismissing the thought, the reminded himself that this dream world had its own rules and he was well aware of the different times and places people could arrive from. That still did not rid him of the knowledge of what had happened back in his home world, though.
But there he was, in a tree branch of all places (like he's one to talk, he takes naps in one every so often in his human form) and howling like a pup who lost his favorite bone or something.
"Still haven't learned, have you," Tsume said idly as he leaned against the wall of a nearby cottage.
Wah! Was that - but it is! The scent, the comment, it was definitely -...
"Tsume!"
Jumping down from the branch to where Tsume was didn't take much effort. Glade to see a familiar face, he walked up to the older wolf. He looked healthy and unhurt and it must mean that the others are too!
"I've been looking everywhere for you guys!" A pause. "So where is everyone?"
He followed him, of course, struggling to keep up with the other's long strides.
"Not here? But..." Tsume and he were here so they should be here too. Well, not that this was the first time they were separated but still ...it left a bad taste in his mouth.
The conversation that the birds had replayed in his head and he frowned. It couldn't be true... right? Glancing upwards at Tsume, Toboe wondered if it was a smart move to ask where he was.
Knowing Tsume, he'd just glare at him. He was going to regret this...
"Tsume, is this really a dream world? It's ... not paradise, is it?"
