Over at the edge of Somni, an unnatural square shaped hole can be seen. It's large enough for a human to easily go through and is right under the perimeter of the barrier surrounding the city.

If someone was close enough at the time, they would be able to hear the soft sound of a boy failing to get through the barrier and suffering the repercussions.
Sumimura Yoshimori lazily climbed out the hole and plopped into a siting position. His dejected expression showed the trouble he dealt with getting out of this place. He couldn't give up now, he had to go back! His brother was still fighting that Mudou guy, last he remembered! The determination turned his expression into one of irritation as he stood up again. Poising his hand and aiming for the barrier, he gave it his last shot.
"METSU!" To most, it would look like he just swung his hand back. Those who could see the supernatural however, could see the translucent blue cube that appeared in the air and shattered. Still, the barrier seemed completely undamaged.
"Argh, I don't get it at all!" Yoshimori scratched his head in frustration as he plopped back into the ground. He tried getting through in the air, underground, and even tried his incomplete zekkai to get past. It was careless for him to use his abilities so freely in an open space anyone could wander through, but he was in a hurry. It seems like the barrier completely surrounded this city. It barrier felt really strong, probably at the level of the one under Karasumori. Something felt different about it though, but he just couldn't understand this barrier. He wished Tokine was here, she was better at this kind of stuff.
With an exasperated sigh, he decided to recover a bit before trying more. He took out a few slips of paper with a square drawn in the middle and dropped them to the ground. They poofed in a cloud of smoke and transformed into shikigami. He better get them to fix the hole before anyone sees.
