Bat arrives in the form of Camazotz and severs the rope with the sharp end of one wing. He reverts to human form upon landing, frowning at the man. Sleeping?

"What were you doing?" Perhaps he should have let him hang for a bit longer.

"Everyone else isn't what I am," he pointed out, then paused for just a moment as he tried to decide whether that sentence made sense before shrugging it off. "And I hear you humans don't have to eat anyway."

Bat frowned, looking displeased. "The Embryon have some fake... thing that's been made for them to eat instead. It isn't natural."

That sounds like a line Nozomu would say. He should take note of it for future use.

"Humans here don't have to eat?" He hasn't heard of that before. The humans of this world are different from those in his world. "The humans from my world need to eat to survive." ...Now he's talking like he's some kind of alien. Kafuka, is this the Peloro-planet you kept talking about?

"Inferior imitations replacing the original... that happens more often than I'd like too." Newer technology that isn't as reliable as older versions, newer menus that no longer have the special taste the restaurant had, and newer readers that don't appreciate what older customers always understood!
