Ken looked slowly around again at the rather old-looking cottages. The road he was on was completely devoid of people as far as he could see. Since he got there, Ken had only talked to two people- one of which was from his world, so he knew

Miranda strolled down the path, gazing at her surroundings. Really, Espoir was a beautiful place. She could seriously see herself living here for a while. Despite her initial panic when she had found herself here, she had adjusted.

She was happy; not ecstatic, but content. She knew she could leave, and that was enough. If she came here while she slept, it wasn't an altogether bad place to spend your sleeping hours.

However, these abnormally deep thoughts were banished when her klutziness decided that she'd been walking upright for too long, and a rock on the path decided the same. Her foot caught on it, and she hit the path hard.

As she lay on the ground, groaning in pain and mortification, she didn't even notice that she was now prostrate in front of a young man.

Ken continued looking around at the houses in Espoir until he heard a thud, and then several groans. He stopped immediately and looked down to see a black-haired woman face-down on the ground.

"Ah! Are you okay?" Ken shouted, surprised, and backed up slightly.

Miranda froze in the middle of getting up when she heard the boy's voice. Glancing up quickly, she was immediately mortified. "Oh, yes! I'm perfectly fine!" she said quickly, scrambling to her feet.

She absently rubbed the new bruise on her forehead as she spoke. "Don't worry. I'm alright. I fall down a lot, so I'm used to that."

Ken relaxed. It was really strange to suddenly come up on a woman laying face-down in the road. She could have been badly hurt, but she didn't seem like it.

"I know what you mean..." Ken said, remembering all the times he'd missed and fallen down in battle. "It's a good thing you're okay, though." Ken smiled reflexively.

*Sakura now, out for a jog ... and hey, there's a kid - he looks lost. Sakura slows down as she passes him, wiping a bit of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand* Hey there. You new or somethin'?

Hello. [reflexively smiles, but it fades] Yeah, I got here a while ago, but I'm sort of lost... You don't have any idea how I can get to the city from here, do you?

*She blinks. The city? ...the city all around Espoir?* Uh... well, if you just start walking straight in any one direction, you're gonna get to it eventually. It's all around this place.

...any part of it in particular you were tryin' to get to?

Not in particular... Someone told me there was a city, and I thought I should find it. I'm more used to cities.

[thinks of something] Oh, is there any place in the city I should go to find a place to stay? I've been told I'm going to be here a while.
