Miranda wandered the city, wringing her hands in fear and confusion. Her eyes darted over the buildings with an agitated, nervous glint in them that would make most people nervous themselves.

She didn't understand anything that was going on. She'd been getting off ( Read more... )

Jade wants you to have a nice trip. :D charmingmaster May 4 2009, 03:15:30 UTC
As fate would have it Jade had been walking through that part of Somni when he heard Miranda's cry of terror. He turned to see the woman running blindly towards him. Silently he made sure to side-step her approach, lest he be run into. However he didn't step completely away. He seemed to be a tad too slow to move his leg, and thus it was directly in Miranda's path at the optimum angle to potentially cause her to trip.

"WAAAU-AAH! OWW!"

Those were the sounds someone would have heard if they'd been near Miranda when she fell. As her face hit the cobblestones, her cry stopped.

Slowly, as she lay on the ground, her panic slowed and stopped. She got up onto her elbows and knees slowly, then turned to the man she'd tripped over.

"Owww..." she whined softly, rubbing the spot on her forehead where she'd hit the pavement.

Jade watched the woman fall spectacularly with mild interest. He was pleased to see that the fall came as enough of a shock to stop her from screaming and blindly running around.

"My, my," Jade said as a smile slowly tugged at his lips. "Is something wrong?"

Rubbing her forehead, Miranda stared up at the man. "Ummm...yes." she said quietly, standing slowly. "I...I have no i-idea where I am...or what's going on..."

He wasn't sure what hit him first - the rush of thoughts or the sound of a woman screaming.

After the recent cannibal attack, he was worried what this might mean, and Edward instantly sought out the source of such high-pitched screaming. He spotted a woman running at him, and managed to catch her by the shoulders, as she would no doubt injure herself if allowed to run headfirst into his body.

"Excuse me, ma'am... can you calm down for a minute and tell me what has you so frightened?"

Miranda hadn't been watching where she was going; she'd just been panicking, and thus hadn't seen the attractive teenager until he'd stopped her.

Shaking in nervousness, she looked him in the face. "S-s-s-sorry..." she stammered out. "I...I-I j-just don't k-know what's hap-happening to me...I-I was on a boat not too long ago, and now I-I'm here..."

Edward let go of his grip on her shoulders, wishing that he suddenly had Jasper's power to calm the slender woman in front of him down.

He smiled. "You don't need to apologize to me, ma'am... I was simply concerned about your well being. Judging from what you've just told me, it seems you're new here. This place is Somarium, it's an alternate world that many people seem to enter through their dreams."

Miranda raised an eyebrow, her panic starting to vanish.

A...a dreamworld? Somarium? An alternate world? This...didn't make much sense.

"But...but that doesn't make any sense!" she protested weakly- her voice was still a bit weak from her shrieking. "I wasn't dreaming when I came here, I was just sad!"

"Owwwww..." Miranda whined, rubbing her back. Then, her eyes flashed up to that of the young girl she'd just knocked over. Horror flicked on in her eyes.

"Oh no!" she gasped out, hurriedly getting to her feet.

"I...I'm so sorry! I-I wasn't watching where I was going, and then this! I'm so, so sorry!" Hurriedly, she walked quickly to where the girl was sitting and offered her a hand up.

"Don't worry about it~" Kitchel bounced back up without Miranda's help, raising her own hands in slight apology. "I'm fine, really. Are you okay? What were you screaming about?"

At this, the reason for her screams, silenced by her accident, Miranda's eyes suddenly filled with total and complete panic.

"I-I have NO idea what's happened to me! I just opened my eyes, and I was here!" She raised a hand to her forehead.

"I DON'T UNDERSTAND!" she freaked.

Sealand was walking around till he saw a really crazy lady running around, straight at him. He tried to get out of the way, but Sealand wasn't exactly a really active or fast kid, so he just ends up being run over.

"OW! Hey you big jerk, you can't do that to the great Sealand-kun!"

Miranda had just been running blindly, so she hadn't noticed the little boy until she'd stumbled over him.

When she saw what she'd done, she stopped running, and a look of horror crossed her face to replace the panic. She was so shocked, she totally ignored the fact that the boy had called himself 'Sealand.'

"Oh no!" she gasped. "I'm so sorry, little boy! I didn't see you there!"

She raced back to the boy and offered him a hand up.

"I'm not little!" He took her hand, pulling hard on it. "I'm the great country of Sealand, you can't just run me over!" His face was dusty and covered with smudges of dirt, and he tried to wipe that off as he spoke. No great country looked dirty, after all. He was trying to get the dust out of his shirt, too. With out a whole wardrobe full of clothes, his shirt was getting dangerously dirty.

Miranda's panic was suppressed for the moment, as she looked at the small child. He had called himself... the country of Sealand?

Her geography wasn't as great as she'd like, but she'd never heard of Sealand. As far as she knew, there wasn't even a country like that. Must have been the boy's invention. She'd play along, for his sake.

"Well, I'm terribly sorry, Sealand." she said, looking down at the little boy and smiling. "I was just upset, and I wasn't paying attention. My apologies."
