Guy was heading back to Hakkai's place, after finally getting his segway. He wasn't brave enough to go randomly riding it through the city, though, so it was still in its box (with assembly instructions!), and Guy was carrying it. He wasn't paying that much attention to his surroundings, when he heard a familiar voice calling out.
"Luke?!" he called in surprise, dropping the segway's box (and somehow not breaking the thing), flailing.
Luke winced, his back was still sore from when Anise had tackled him. He was calming down quickly now that he was assured that the ground wasn't suddenly going to start falling away beneath his feet. He wasn't going to lie to himself about even beginning to understand almost anything that she had told him. However, the current danger was gone at least.
And suddenly he stopped in his tracks, hearing a crash and a familiar voice calling his name.
Guy recovered (physically, at least) fairly quickly.
"Yo!" he smiled.
Inside, however, Guy was on the verge of breaking. He'd finally come to terms with Luke's disappearance, and now that he was back... Was this because he'd left, before? Was this Somarium's way of getting revenge on him?
It was by interesting coincidence that Jade happened to be walking through the area when he heard Luke cry out. He looked towards where the shout had come from with interest, as he tucked his Dreamberry back into his pocket. He had been informed not too long ago that Luke had disappeared from Somarium, but it seemed that Luke had returned like he and Guy had.
So... we disappeared at the same time, then reappeared almost at the same time, Jade mused silently as he rounded a corner to see the familiar redhead. Luke didn't look as the Colonel last saw him, which merely suggested a rough area in time that the redhead came from.
"So you're here too, Luke," Jade commented as he approached Luke, hands tucked into his pockets. "Welcome to Somarium... or perhaps I should say welcome back."
Ohh, he recognized that voice. He was surprised that he didn't hear any sarcasm, teasing, or jokes thrown into his words yet. Anise had mentioned the Colonel was here, but he didn't expect to meet up with him so soon.
"Jade! So you are here! Do you have any idea what's happening? Do you know why we're all in this world?"
Luke expected that if anyone would know, it would be Jade!
Jade couldn't decide whether to chuckle or sigh at Luke's rapid-fire questions. Even though he had discovered Luke had in fact survived their final battle before the Colonel's arrival in Somarium, he hadn't spent enough time with the young man to truly appreciate his return. It was strangely refreshing. It was almost enough to distract Jade from the annoying fact that he had no answers yet for those questions.
"I'm afraid I don't know much more than you do," Jade admitted as he slipped his glasses upward. "I only arrived here a few days ago."
"Aw, really?" Luke frowned. Even Jade didn't know! If Jade didn't know, then it was really likely that no one would. "That's disappointing."
He remembered how everyone had told him that he came from a different time then they did... So would Jade be the same? Why was everyone showing up in this world at the same time for each other, even if everyone is from different times in reality?
"Everyone keeps telling me I'm from a different time from them or something... What was going on when you showed up here, Jade?"
Estelle rarely ventured out of Espoir these days, but she had been in the city in hopes of finding the library again. She was walking aimlessly, oblivously lost, when she heard shouts that stopped her dead in her tracks. She knew that voice...but it couldn't be. He had left two weeks ago, didn't he? But she heard it again and the ache in her heart reeved up, knocking out the air in her lungs. She was hearing things, she had to. But still, despite herself, she ran to the sound of the voice.
Turning a corner, she saw him and gasped. The short flaming red hair, the wide green eyes, the white coat...it was him, there was no doubt about that.
"Luke..." she chocked out. "LUKE!"
She ran to him, throwing her arms around his neck, tears already falling from her eyes.
"You're here! You're back! I'm.....I'm so sorry Luke!" she sobbed into his chest.
Ugh... All of this was so confusing! Luke's mind had been on autopilot for so long that it was really jarring to suddenly be thrust out of the cycle of constantly running all around the world trying to save everyone. Not only that, but he had randomly been dumped in this dream world, where everyone's from different times, and some other "him" had already been here! Anyone would probably feel just as frustrated.
Luke turned his head when he heard someone else call his name, and he suddenly had to brace himself to make sure he didn't fall over as some lady with pink hair suddenly ran up and hugged him!
"Wait, wait, WHOA!" He shouted, trying to get himself out of the woman's grasp. He stopped when he realized that the woman was crying on him... She must have known the last him that everyone else had mentioned, but he had no idea who she was! "I'm sorry, but I'm not the same "Luke." I don't know who you are!"
Estelle took a step back and looked up, bewildered by Luke's words. How could he not be the same Luke? Was there more than one? She searched his green eyes for a sign of the Luke she had known. The one that had been so kind to her when she had first arrived, the one that had gone into the storm to get her even though he had been burning up with fever, the one that had shared her first kiss. She thought her heart broke for a second time when she realized that all she could see was honest surprise and incomprehension from the young man in front of her. Her Luke was gone and she knew now that he would never come back.
She moved away from Luke and bowed as she wiped the tears from her face with shaky hands:
"I'm really sorry.....My name is Estelle and I was.....close to you before you...disappeared...."
So it was the same with Luke then with Yuri; they had no recollections of their time spent here when they went back and forth to their own worlds.
Luke opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Honestly, what could he say? The way she looked reminded him of how Natalia looked sometimes when they were kids. All that time, she must have thought that she had lost the Luke she had known, even though he still was alive in Asch. At the time, he was just a kid. It didn't really matter to him, but now, he felt horrible. It felt like it was his fault.
"I'm sorry..." was all he could think to say in the end.

"Yo." Luke said, giving a huge smile back. "Guy, I'm really glad you're here! I met Anise earlier. She told me you would be!"
"So, do you have any idea what happened? How did we all end up in this place?"
