Fuu was walking through the streets as well, her own, much smaller stack of books in her arms, when she saw the... moving library. She paused in her steps, for a moment too stunned to do anything more than stare, then came to her senses and hurried over to offer assistance.

"Excuse me, miss," Fuu said, spotting Nagato's skirt as she fell in step beside her, "would you like some help? Let me carry some of those for you."

The pale girl took a few more light steps before she actually noted the newcomer walking beside her. Her stack of books teetered as she stopped, but, as if to laugh in the face of physics, returned to it's quasi-upright position almost immediately.

Yuki slowly turned her head to face the bespectacled girl. Her blank, obsidian eyes blinked intermittently as they sized the girl up, without even so much as a hint of expression.

Fuu smiled pleasantly down at the shorter girl, shifting the three books on language syntax and evolution that she held in her hands. "Where are you taking these? They look very interesting. Please," Fuu continued, "let me help."

Yuki inclined her head slightly, but only for a moment. Though it may have been unclear, that reserved, little action was what passed for a nod when it came to the alien girl. She turned her body to the taller girl - nearly hitting her with the pile of books in the process - and extended her arms, leaving it up to Fuu as to how many books she chose to carry.

A small box of pastries in hand, D was on his way back to his pet shop when he spotted the precariously balanced stack of books heading his way down the sidewalk. The petite count instantly knew who was behind the books.

The man smiled sweetly before calling out to the girl. "We meet again, miss. How lovely."

Yuki stopped a few feet away from D and nodded at him, though her head wasn't actually visible from the effeminate man's point of view. It was a wonder that she even knew it was him.

"Do you require any assistance with these books?"

The pale girl simply shrugged her small shoulders and stood quietly, staring blankly at tower of books before her.

...

After a good minute, when no answer came, she opted to take a more direct approach.

"Perhaps," she replied conservatively.

Ever since Lloyd's dream the other day, he had just needed to get... out. Get some fresh air. Or... Something. He really wasn't one for doing that kind of thing - he'd much rather bury himself in his work, but even having a bit of work for a change hadn't really helped. It hadn't managed to distract him the same way that it usually did.

It was a little disconcerting.

Which is why he had decided to take a walk around the city.

Unfortunately, the alone time just gave him more of a chance to wallow in his own thoughts, and he didn't even notice as he nearly ran into the young girl, saved only by her ability to miraculously avoid him with little effort.

Though she couldn't actually see the man she had narrowly avoided, the alien girl could sense his presence to a certain degree - which was also how she had managed to miss hitting him in the first place. She immediately recognized him as the man she had spoken to over the phone twice, though she didn't actually know what he called himself.

His data was peculiar. He was definitely a normal human - as far as she could tell - but he was... interesting.

Yuki turned her body to face the bespectacled man, though in doing so she had undoubtedly obstructed his view of everything but her skirt and legs.

The scientist stopped when she turned toward him, turning to face her, wondering absently why she had paused in her travels. She certainly made an interesting sight, in any case- a tiny girl, face and body obscured by books, books, and more books. He didn't yet recognize her as the girl he had spoken to over the dreamberry, although it wouldn't have been that difficult a guess to make.

He slipped his hands in his pockets, leaning forward a bit and trilling.

"Something the matter, Miss?"

"We have spoken before," she said simply. Her naturally soft voice was quieted even further by books in front of her face.

Rita was making her way down the street in the opposite direction, deciding to get out one day as opposed to just staying in her apartment. However, this was the first time she had seen a stack of floating books. She was just about to start hurling spells at whatever ghost was behind it when she saw a pair of thankfully corporeal legs behind it.

Rita moved out of the way well before the stack made it to her and found herself watching a young girl, possibly her age, carrying this massive stack. And before she knew what she was doing, she had turned around and was walking beside her. "Hey, do you need a hand with those?"

Rita's goals were not entirely altruistic; she was already scanning the titles for anything she was interested in.

Yuki kept up her pace and turned her head to see the fiery-haired girl walking beside her. She blinked at the girl several times, as if to say "Who? Me?", before turning her attention back to her collection of texts and shrugging.

The pale girl didn't actually need help, but she wasn't opposed to it, either. All that mattered was getting the books home.

She recognized that look, or at least she thought she did. She reached up and took about several books off the top of the stack, just enough so that Rita could still see over them if she craned her neck.

"Better?"

Though the lighter load hardly even made difference, Yuki nodded. She wasn't programmed to be kind just for the sake of make people feel better, but she wasn't programmed to be rude, either. Her mission was to blend in, so accepting the girl's assistance wouldn't be violating protocol. She turned back to the red-haired girl and regarded her silently for a few more seconds before starting off toward her apartment again.
