Uh oh. Would this propensity for bumping into someone also extend to stumbling? Because there may well have been an obstacle in poor Subaru's path, in the form of a length of golden hair, weaving over the ground in a serpentine fashion while its owner peered into the windows of buildings she passed to see if any were interesting shops.
Rapunzel was out exploring. And though she registered the sounds of someone walking nearby, it didn't occur to her to look back. Instead she darted forward to the next little street, unintentionally pulling her hair about Subaru's feet like a trip wire.
"I suppose that could be. It makes sense, if you think about it." Rapunzel pursed her lips pensively for a moment. Not remembering a dream. Maybe it really was as simple as that.
His next question had her smiling a bit sheepishly. "Well, ah... yes and no. No one I know from home. Then again, I don't know all that many people back home" Being locked in a tower had that effect. "But I met a couple people who said we were friends when I was here before. They're awfully nice, so I'm kind of glad I ran into them... again."
"Well that's good that there was someone that at least knew you here, it can be overwhelming even in a dream if you're on your own. But the good thing is you get to meet a lot of new people, and a lot of people that I've met here have been very nice and helpful."
"That is a good thing, isn't it? I never really got a chance to meet so many people before, back home." Well, she'd made quite a few friends on her travels with Eugene, but that had only been one day out of 19 years.
"It is. The people here don't close themselves off like a lot of people do sometimes when it comes to people from a different place." There were a number of people in Tokyo who didn't like talking to foreigners or those that weren't Japanese referring to them as outsiders and often being cruel or mean to them. So Subaru was happy to see so many people that were open and helpful.
