Who: Naomi and anyone! Where: A popular Somni cafe Style: Your choice! Status: Open, open, open! I would be thrilled with new CR, but familiar faces are always welcome

Yuri's the type of girl that enjoys being off on her own, sitting in a cafe and being content with a cup of tea and a nice book to read. Extra noise is usually something she tries to avoid but this cafe has been very good for having a damn good cup of tea and some sandwiches. She's got her book bag with homework and other reading material -- she even has a book open in her hand and has her nose stuck in it as she expertly weaves around the patrons to get to the front counter

The delicate bump of the younger girl's hip against the back of her chair was barely even noticeable to Naomi (thankfully, or her coffee might have spilled everywhere at the small mishap), but it was the stranger's polite apology that really caught Naomi's attention enough to pull her out of her spiraling thoughts.
The doctor turned slightly in her chair to face the girl in the cafe, her dark eyes sizing up the girl briefly with a flick up and down before she managed a small smile in her direction. She may have been a stranger, but sometimes a refreshing face was just what Naomi needed. Besides, she looked harmless enough, even by Somarium standards. It wasn't as if the woman would really suffer somehow for striking up a casual conversation with her

There's a small look of relief that spreads on Yuri's face when her apology is met amicably. There are some people that would take offense to the bump but that's obviously not the case here. Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she smiles gently knowing that the drink and the woman in question weren't troubled.
"I'm relieved that I didn't spill anything. I normally don't have any problems when walking through populated places."
With that, she shuts the book that's in her hand and slips it in to her book bag so that nothing else happens. It's a very bad habit of hers to read while walking. Yuri's had her friend scold her plenty of times on the subject but old habits die hard and in her life, having a moment to sit down and read anything was rare.
"I do hope I'm not interrupting you then." There's a hint of understanding in Yuri's eyes at the mention of having thoughts weight on ones mind.
After a quick glance around the overly crowded cafe and the full tables surrounding all around them, Naomi politely waved towards the chair opposite of her, inviting the younger girl to sit if she so wished to. Though she normally preferred to keep strangers at a distance when she wasn't at her absolute best of moods, today things just felt different. It wasn't as if she was simply fighting with her husband or feeling a little more under the weather than usual. It was something more permanent and terrifying than that.
As far as reading while walking went, Naomi couldn't (and wouldn't) blame the younger girl for indulging in something she so obviously enjoyed. As far as bad habits went, it was certainly a good ways down the list of severe ones. The doctor had seen and been involved in much, much worse

[You'd think after having an... incident in another cafe while she was studying would have deterred Claire from coming back ever again. But here she was, a bag full of books slung over one shoulder while waiting for her order to be filled out. She had her forearm resting on the counter, her fingers tapping on the surface as a way to pass the time. She had let her mind wander for a moment when she felt something steaming hot scalding her skin.]
Ow! Sonofa-- [She quickly pulled her arm away, shaking her sleeve while biting back a few expletives. The waitress (who seemed to be new to the job) had accidentally spilled newly brewed coffee on her arm and was apologizing furiously. They were making quite a scene, making a couple of heads turning in their direction.]
[Distracted or not, Naomi was always quick to break out of any train of thought when a potential emergency was at hand. It was just second nature to her after all of these years long ago as a military medic.
Dropping her own dwindling mug of hot coffee onto her lonely table (without spilling a drop, thankfully), the doctor was up on her dainty feet immediately, reaching for the girl's uninjured arm to steer her towards an empty chair.
Naomi snaps at the barista,] Get me a bowl of cold water immediately!
[Her sharp gaze moves to Claire, slender fingers already pulling the sleeve of her shirt back.] I'm a doctor, so please don't worry. Let me just see how bad this is so we can get it fixed.
[The barista gives a squeak of surprise, but quickly does what the woman asked them. Claire, however was trying to squirm away from Naomi's touch, knowing all too well the doctor won't find anything wrong with her arm when the sleeve is pulled back.]
No--I'm fine! Please--
[She could feel her ability working right at this very moment. Claire hissed as the skin was slowly repairing itself bit by bit. The burning sensation still lingered while the healing factor did its work.]
[As much as she may argue with the doctor in what Naomi believes is Claire's shock at the situation unfolding so quickly and the shot of pain suddenly bursting through her arm, the woman continues pulling her sleeve up delicately to keep it from hindering the burn wound further.
But as the clothing slips away, Naomi freezes, dark eyes widening at just what she sees.]
...Oh my God... [And the older woman is frozen there, watching as the skin on the younger woman's arm knits together all by itself.]
Kotetsu had been in the lineup to order his own coffee, hands in the pockets of his light brown overcoat and trademark hat nestled comfortably upon his head. He'd have normally ordered somewhere else, somewhere more quiet and closer to his apartment, but this was the cafe his partner had shown him before he'd left and that in itself made it the better choice. It held a certain warmth because of that, and it eased his worries in the form of a few select memories that they'd shared there

Meddle away, Kotetsu. Naomi, no matter how she may react to this unexpected reunion, honestly is pleased that someone (especially a handsome man) was stepping in to interfere with her brooding.
Immediately broken out of her train of thought at his greeting, Naomi tore her gaze away from her slowly dwindling cup of coffee to glance upwards at the man. Though it took her a brief moment to recognize just who exactly he was, it really had been some time since they'd last spoken, Kotetsu possessed just too attractive a face for her to forget him completely. Her usual beautiful, beaming smile smoothed onto her lovely face at the recognition, the woman's posture straightening in her chair. It was a cute guy, after all. She had to look her absolute best, married or not.
"It may have only been once, but I do remember you." She waved to her empty chair, inviting him silently to join her for as long as he should like. "It's so nice to see you again. I take it you've settled in perfectly well, right

His amber eyes followed Naomi's hand as she waved to the empty seat at her table, and with a nod and smile of his own he took it after placing his cup down and removing his coat, spreading it unevenly across the back. He hadn't expected his little outing to become a social occasion, but this was just as welcomed to him as it was to her

"As close as to home as you can get in this dream city, you mean?" Naomi suggested with a smile, leaning forward in her chair towards the newcomer. The woman understood perfectly well how difficult it was for most people to ease into the casual, day-to-day life of Somarium, especially with the prospect of leaving at anytime hanging over their head. Most residents never truly adjusted, but then again, they were more often than not sent home after some period of time anyway, so why bother pretending? As far as she knew, Naomi was one of the very few people who actually preferred her life here to her one back home.
Leaving Somarium hadn't even crossed her mind in months now. It had become so integrated into her life (her work was here, her husband was here), the beautiful woman hadn't even recognized that there was a chance that she could one day disappear. Hm. Has the thought ever run through Javert's mind
