Ground Assault! retromodel November 19 2011, 00:45:19 UTC
Initialising Combat Mode. Threat level A. Engaging target.

[Lambda darts into combat against the statue, strafing around in a circle while bombarding it with energy swords.]

[Some flying knives heading towards Lambda are deflected by several blasts. The source of them is Noel, who hops off the roof of a nearby building and lands on her feet. Since Bolverk detected how serious of a threat the statue is, it has suppressed about 85% of her emotions.]

Lambda, the primary objective is to lure it to the city outskirts. Please adjust your tactics accordingly.

Understood. Initialising "Luring" procedures. [And with that she pushes in for another attack, aiming to pull the statue's attention onto herself.]

[And while Lambda's pulling, Noel will go and "push" the statue towards the desired direction by attacking from the opposite direction. She's not going to be shy about shooting at the statue.

All together now, big sis: DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...]

[ Thor watches the knives and statue on it's path of discretion, swinging Mjölnir let is pick up speed calling on his power. ]

[Ignoring him at first, it continued around on it's merry path of destruction before having a sort of pause. It was almost as an afterthought that it decided to try and knife him.]

[ Thor chuckles a little as the statue brings it's attention to Thor, he raises his hammer and flies up avoiding the knife but just barely, it nicks his armor sending off a spark. He focuses his energy and brings the hammer down quickly in the direction of the statue bring a bolt of lighting down towards the statue. ]

[That kind of tingled. The lightning was actually absorbed into the statue...

Suddenly, all the blades stopped spinning, their points aimed directly at Thor. Then, all at once the very same lightning Thor used erupted from each point, aiming right back at him.]

[So... Valvatorez followed the statue back into the city while he was out level grinding in the desert... because he is so convinced that it's a boss character. And that if he defeats it, he can go home.]

Not so fast, you strange mass of vectors! Though I'm still not quite used to real-time battle yet... I, Valvatorez, shall overpower you with my training and the power of SARDINES!

[The statue may liken itself to a sort of boss character. Or maybe bossa nova character, but that was up for debate. Anyway, what was this piddly being doing, standing in it's way, trying to stop it? How silly it must be. Unless it was just confused and watched to join the mighty statue's cause. If that was the case, then the more minions the better.

...also, it might have 'accidentally' stabbed right at Valvatorez. It was never any good making friends.]

[Hey man, that's not cool. :(

Luckily, Valvatorez is going to deflect that attack with his sword and try to ricochet right back at the statue with his demonic strength. Like glorified baseball or something.]

[Well, it didn't quite ricochet like a glorified baseball, but it did alter the swing of the blade and fractured it a bit. Small pieces fell to the ground-though by small they were more like five feet in length. Still it was small to the statue.

But not to be deterred, the statue goes back in for another stab, this time not so 'accidental.' It just wanted to make friends, man.]

[This was not really something Jubei had considered when he'd dragged Ragna back to his house in Espoir. Maybe he really would have been better off lying comatose in the streets, because that statue is starting to get awful close.]

[So now what? So far the plan seems to be just charging in, sword held firmly between his teeth. Maybe if he hits it enough it'll decide to go away.]

[Maybe. Or it might get more annoyed and be more determined to squish him.

Which the statue tries to do by slamming its full force and weight onto Jubei.]

[Oh, ouch. That kind of knocked the wind out of him. But all the same, he manages to cling on as it collides with him and starts to scurry up the side of the statue.]

[Ah, that tickles. Bad kitty.

There's not much the statue can do, though Jubei may suddenly feel the statue getting a little...hot.]

[Thanks to a little asking of NPCs, he'd been able to arm himself properly for this- so Philip came reasonably prepared, with Sword of Truth and Shield of the Shop. Racing through ache and chill on his noble steed, the prince's blade licked out to slash at the statue's base again and again as he raced past and prepared for another go.]

[Blah blah blah, why do these heroes always have silly charging yells?

The statue slowly spins as the prince continues to stab it before slowly rising upward. However, as it rose upward, the arms that held the blades slowly lowered, the knives coming dangerously close to where Philip was.]

[It's a helpful reminder as to why they're being so damn stupidheroic in the first place.

And it does seem like he's at least hurting it a little; cuts are made and the thing has a reaction. But as that reaction is apparently trying to cut him up with giant whirling knives, Philip's not sure he likes that reaction.

Nonetheless, it's this kind of reason he's treating this like a light cavalry affair; dash in and hurt them, then get out and go for another pass. Considering how close those knives came on his second attack, such and evasive method seemed a damn good idea...

Ah, well. More slash and run!]

[Yes, it was a good maneuver. Also annoying.

The statue continues to try to slice and dice the prince, but at some point it deliberately digs one of its blade into the ground, only to throw the debris upward and toward Philip.]
