Clary herself was bundled up against the cold too, that dark green coat Luke had given her--the one she'd arrived in, perhaps luckily--over warm clothes, and the thick knitted scarf wrapped around her neck strikingly white against the red of her hair.

She smiled back, of course, excited despite the cold and her false show of reluctance earlier. "This had better be good," Clary warned, coming up to join him and even venturing to hook an arm in his. It had taken some time, but she seemed to have warmed up quickly enough after the initial shock to the fact that they really could be together. And it was wonderful.

"I think you'll love it." Pulling her close so that way she could be pressed against him while their arms were linked, he set off to lead her outside then towards the lake. It was cold outside but the ice was calling to them. He'd even gotten them skates to be delivered to the area. More than anything, Jace wanted to impress Clary, take her out for a good time since they were together finally.

"In fact, I know that you will."

"You sound so confident," she laughed, not minding it at all, and walked close to keep warm with him as Jace led her through the winter chill. If she wasn't mistaken, they were heading toward the lake, and it wasn't hard to have a little suspicion, at least, of what he might be planning, but Clary didn't voice it.

"Well I am amazing," he informed her as they walked along. There was a grin on his face that didn't look like it was going to be melting away at any point. Having Clary around made this place better already. Especially now that she understood that they really weren't siblings.
