[though Draco Malfoy made no attempt to open the door, he most certainly did glance out the window. The sound of knocking had frightened his kitten, caused her to bury her head beneath his arm; he snaps his book closed before scooping her up, frowning as he peers past the curtains to glimpse Javert.

[What could Javert possibly want? It was nothing Draco cared to find out. So he lets the curtains fall back into place, ignoring the odd feeling niggling at him and threatening to raise gooseflesh on his arms.]

Excuse the intrusion, Monsieur, [Javert proclaims in an imperious, professional manner. Unlike his last visit, his head is held high, and his wide pupils glimmer with something resembling giddiness. His large hand plunges deep into his coat pocket.] I know this is a great hassle for you.

[Not that Javert seems to care entirely that he is intruding upon Lucius's grand estate and lovely day. Out comes a tri-folded document from his pocket, which he unfurls with a flick of his wrist. It is a warrant of arrest, written plainly and validated with a seal by High Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth's own hand.]

Your maid is still here. [It isn't a question. Javert is forceful, and if he isn't certain of it he is damn good at bluffing his confidence.] You will show me to her now.

[And if Lucius doesn't? Well... There are laws for handling that, too.]

[Javert studies Lucius coldly, his eyes piercing that cool facade. Eventually he bows his head in civility with a grim tip of his hat.]

Do not go far. I expect you will give your report before we are through.

[And with that, he places the warrant back in his pocket, draws himself to his full height and starts a swift, determined, eager, silent step toward the side-garden. Alone, apparently. Though he does not reach for either his nightstick or hidden pistols, he is acutely aware of them, knowing with great precision how quickly he will need to retrieve them in the event of an ambush.]
