Ada jumps to an instant after the knocks, a bit surprised by the sudden loud noise. It wasn't often that she was called upon, much less so urgently, and even less so when that particular person was Vanessa. But Ada had been the one to ask. Maybe she did not share that profound passion that Vanessa had for the language of flowers and the arrangement of them, but she really admired the passion Vanessa had. At the time, it seemed like a great opportunity for her to get to know the older woman a bit better and see Vanessa's passion through teaching.

Less than gracefully, she hurried to the door, terrified of keeping Vanessa waiting too long. She worried that if she didn't hurry, Vanessa might easily change her mind and retract her offer. "Coming!" She shouted, only a few seconds early, on her way to the door.

Pulling the door back, she gives Vanessa a nervous smile. "Ah, good afternoon Miss Vanessa."

It's become more difficult over time to glare at this girl in the same way that she used to. For one thing, her brother has insisted time and time again that the Vessalius family were allies and no longer enemies. For another, she's seen the way that both Oz and Ada have gone out of their way to respect him and show him their kindness. But the stigma attached to those bright green eyes still stays with her, even if it's a lesser degree now.

She clears her throat and holds up her notebook.

"Do you have anything to take notes with? Because I won't be happy if I have to repeat myself later."

It makes her happy, because she notices the little things. Maybe it will never be gone, but the fact that it's changed... that she's been able to get a little bit closer to Vanessa makes her smile. When she'd first asked for lessons she wasn't sure if Vanessa would agree but now she was ever so glad she asked.

"Oh! I'll go get it!" Ada didn't want to ask Vanessa to repeat herself. It would have likely come at a high price nonetheless. "Oh! Please come in." She wasn't sure where Vanessa wanted to hold her lesson but it was rude to leave her in the hallway waiting in any case. Whether it was her room, outside, or anywhere really, Ada didn't mind. That decision too would teach her something about Vanessa.

At least, that was the way in which she liked to look at it.

The room is cleaner than she expected. Somehow, she'd figured that this girl would be just as unclean as her annoying older foster brother Vincent. The maids had gossiped ruthlessly back home about the wasteland of his bedroom, and in her mind she'd always associated it with the Vessalius household as well. A group of people who cared only about themselves. The selfish, arrogant fools that they must be; they shouldn't be able to appreciate the wealth that they had come into since the Tragedy one hundred years ago ( ... )
