Trapped in a Nightmare

Sep 20, 2011 19:06

It had been about half an hour since the group who had volunteered (and not volunteered) to join the dreamscape first arrived into the setting Sylvani provided. Though they could not see her, they could at least hear her voice. She had explained to them that this was one of the major battles between the more powerful dreamwalkers and the invading ( Read more... )

[ Sasuke had not been expecting that. His reflexes are quick and he pulls out a kunai ready should any of the creatures lunge at him. As blood thirsty as these things seem the chances are probably high.

[No way is this young ninja running away.]

Sasuke-kun! [Hikaru races over to him, her sword drawn and her knightly attire. She hadn't meant to shout his name out like that, but she was kind of happy to see that the other had recovered.

And Hikaru wouldn't be running away or having Sasuke fight alone. If the Noctaere were going to attack, there would be two of them. Whether he liked it or not.]

[ For a brief moment the calling of his name combined with the color of Hikaru's hair makes him think of home. Too bad his own pink-haired friend isn't nearly as useful, nor does she carry a weapon quite like that.

[For the moment, he doesn't really appreciate the help. ]

...

[ No time for pleasantries. The creatures his and snarl, several of them lunging for both Sasuke and Hikaru. Time to show him what you're made of! ]

[As several of the noctaere lunges toward them, Hikaru crouched down into a fighting stance, sword ready to be drawn...but it wasn't the time yet. As soon as the right moment came, she darts up and with on swing she manages to slash two of them in the stomach, causing them to fall back giving her enough time to parry the incoming attacks of two others.]

Seriously?

[it was a good thing Isabelle is always prepared, even when she doesn't expect anything to happen. Despite just having woken up, she's ready and willing to take on whatever is thrown at them; her whip is already uncoiled and at her side.] No way I'm letting something like this take me out.

It'd be way out of character if you did.

[Ange steps up beside Isabelle, not looking over at the other girl. Fight or not fight, there's a necessity now for them to work together... she thinks. A single golden butterfly drifts past her shoulder, and the ghost of a smirk appears on her features.]

... Ready?

nolessthanseven September 21 2011, 20:58:45 UTC
[she heard Ange before she saw her, and even then didn't bother looking over. It was the butterfly she glanced up to, and she barely resists the urge to roll her eyes.]

I was born ready. [quite literally, too. Isabelle lunges towards the nearest noctaere, snapping her whip towards it with the intent of rending it limb from limb.]

[Ange lowers her head slightly as Isabelle moves forward. Well, it's now or never.]

Come, arise...

[It might not even work. She hasn't been able to summon them yet, since she's been in Somarium... But, maybe...]

Mammon of Greed!

[Ange suddenly draws a labored breath, but at the same time, a deadly-looking metal stake appears in the air. The weapon emits a strange, metallic, high-pitched giggle before shooting forward through the air, piercing one of the noctaere through the head.]

[Rhyme had come because she was interested of knowing about the history of this place but... never had she ever thought that this would happen. Granted... a small part of her mind had told her to bring her pins with her just in case.

Something that had proven useful when everything turned horribly wrong.

Narrowing her eyes as she saw the beasts headed toward them, she took a step backward into a more defensive fighting stance. Her smile gone and replaced with a rather serious expression. Her brother was here with her - he hadn't let her do this alone - but it didn't mean she wasn't going to try and fight]

This doesn't look good.

Please be careful, brother.

[This had not been in Beat's plan. Hell, heading into this thing wasn't in his plan either but seeing that Rhyme wanted to check things out, he figured it was best not to let her go alone. Now more than ever, he was glad that he volunteered to go in with her.

Leaving the place wasn't the first thing that crossed his mind though. Seeing the noctaere once or twice before but this many of them? To say they were overwhelming would be an understatement.

He may have had Respect on him but without a board, his pin was useless. Better do this old school.]

Don't worry 'bout me, Rhyme. It's these guys who's gotta worry 'bout somethin'.

[At that she does glance over to him, a bit curious to if he has any of his pins with him as well. Not that it would stop him from becoming a part of the action either way.

Rhyme had never really interacted with these beasts but she had seen them before when they'd come into the city some time back after the flood.

It's only when one of them moves to try and lash out for her that she acts, touching one of her pins and throwing her arm outwards, fingers extended toward the beast as a bolt of lightning shot out and hit it in the chest.]

These aren't like Noise but we can take them down.

If we lessen their numbers, there's a chance that we may be able to get out of this.

[Meaning the dreamscape turned real of anything else. It reminds her of playing the Reapers' game; needing to do certain things in order to get out alive.]

Don't matter if they Noise or not, yo! Still gonna pound their faces in!

[And off he goes, actually trying to punch some of the oncoming noctaere in any place he could. Some may have looked humanoid in form, while others took on an animal-like shape. But the details didn't matter too Beat. All he wanted to do was get out and get rid of whatever came towards them.

It was right at that moment that he wished he had listened to whatever they said about Dreamwalking before. Maybe that training bit would've been a good thing to head into. Maybe he would've been able to bring his board into the dreamscape but that wasn't what he should have been focusing on then.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, the noctaere he had hit earlier whizzes past him, heading straight towards Rhyme.]

Rhyme! Look out, yo!

Wha--?!

[Noel didn't expect this at all. That nightmare lady terrify the hell out of her, because she reminded Noel too much of a ghost. To make matters worse, everyone became stuck in the middle of a war zone. After trying to eject herself out of the Dreamscape to no avail, she realizes that she has no choice but to fight for survival. Without hesitation, Noel quickly pulls off her cloak and tosses it aside, then summons Bolverk into her hands.

She takes a defensive position as the Noctaere made their advance, ready to counter any attacks. Despite keeping a calm focus as she faces the heat of battle, Noel is incredibly worried about some... certain people. She'll need to make sure they're safe, so she can't afford to waste too much time here.]

[Already, Elliot hadn't wanted to lose sight of Noel and Leo. The situation was very enlightening, but years of experience in Somarium screamed to him that something was very wrong about the idea of seeing the war firsthand. The second he felt that prickle across his skin while they were watching, he knew something was going wrong. His first instinct was to immediately draw his sword and move closer to Leo, even before he realized that they really did just get materialized right into the situation.

It was only after making sure Leo was safe that he realized that it was just the two of them. The guides were gone, and so was...]

Noel! [Elliot tried calling out, but the roar of the battle was too much, and he couldn't keep searching. The noctrae were advancing fast. Elliot brought his sword up to a ready position.]

Stay behind me, Leo!

disruptstatice September 21 2011, 20:06:38 UTC
[Leo would stay by Elliot's side no matter what so, of course, when Elliot had volunteered to enter, he would follow. There is one very inconvenient thing about it, however; he can't really fight much, at all.

He will not leave Elliot, but... he's kind of a burden like this, which he hates. He has a gun, but the situation is too uncertain to use it too much.

It would just be for protecting Elliot, first and foremost, if the need would arise, then.]

Ah--

[He doesn't need to be told twice. Elliot is a much better fighter than him, and so he steps up close to Elliot, keeping an eye on the surroundings as he grabs his gun. Just... watch and see, then.]

[The moment Nitiri appeared, Allen knew something very bad was going to happen. Because of that he was able to dodge one of the Noctaere claws that had just finished disemboweling one of the until then, ghostly combatants. The creature never had the opportunity to turn around and charge at the new prey. Several white tendrils had already wrapped around it's middle before flinging it back into the thick of the battle.]

Sylvani! Aisling?!

[No matter how much he looked, there was no sign of their guides. They were on their own. He didn't have time to panic. Allen needed to find others like him and form a group to last in this place. He didn't even consider trying to leave the Dreamscape before everyone else.]

[ Truthfully, Nero hadn't been paying much attention to the entire scenario. He had done this purely on a whim and was regretting it because of how many things he needed to do to fix Dante's damn bike. Saving up money = extremely difficult when one didn't have a job or tried to refuse the dreams that would earn him points to pay for things. He relied primarily on Dante as a mooch. But just for now. It wasn't something that he wanted but it was something that he was dealing with as it turned out. Over time, he'd get over it or just get a job. The half-demon was suddenly brought back to the drama when the other woman appeared before they were finally involved in the dreamscape that surrounded them. ]

What are you expecting them to do? [ He's an Allen-troll. We've come to this realization. The other light haired fighter didn't panic either as he reached for the Red Queen before moving over to the other young man. ]

[Everyone seems to like trolling Allen. It's the story of his life really. Still as much as he can't stand the guy, Nero is a noteworthy fighting force.]

I don't know maybe get us out since they got us in here?

[That aside, he's still going to be brattish about it.]

How are your powers? Anything different?

[He's not going to mention his own feel weakened by the damn place nooope~]

[ At least it wasn't Tyki? The other teen didn't exactly seem to want to brace himself for whatever the monsters attacking would toss at them. He wanted to attack on his own. ]

If they got us in here, why the Hell would they let that woman get us trapped in here?

[ He could certainly be brattish right back. The Sylvani and the techies had made it seem like the dreamscape was going to be the safest thing they could do the entire time they were there. But here they were. Not safe. ]

Nothing that I can tell. Why? You're trying to find a good explanation just in case these things kick your ass?

[ He won't mention it either. But he did feel a tad bit weaker than he usually did. Nero just wasn't the type to come out and say it. He was confident in himself after all. ]
