It was hard work, cleaning up the library after the big flood. But thankfully everyone had made it through the storm, now it was just a matter of getting everything organized again. And if there was one thing Twilight Sparkle loved and adored, it

since the library was one of his frequent haunts (pun not intended), it was one of the first places he went to to help. so there he was, setting out any wet books on cleared tables (all of them arranged in order) and there were very neat piles of debris and such ready to be placed in the also neatly organized garbage bags.]

The unicorn closed her eyes and concentrated, magically lifting one of the debris piles and "scooping" it into the garbage bag, the ties lifting and tying themselves in a glow of violet magic.
"We'll have this place ship shape in no time!"

"Yes, I often frequent the libraries back home as well as here," he finally said as he returned to checking one of the books he had laid out to dry.
"You're the caretaker of this particular building, correct?"

Stepping over to examine his handiwork, the unicorn smiled in appreciation. "That's a good idea. If I bring some more over, could you spread them out, too?"

But at her question, he glanced at her and flashed her a smile. "Of course. The ones out on the table are mostly dry." He then picked up a completely drenched paperback and winced. "These will take a little longer. I don't suppose you know a drying spell, would you?"
It was a fair question, and Kid looked completely serious when he turned to ask her this.

Thinking over his question, Twilight slowly shook her head with a sigh. "I don't, no. I really wish I did, but that might be a bit more than I've studied so far."
She trotted over to the window and peered out. "We might be able to move the table over here and place them in the sun, you think?"

"It should work. We just have to be careful or the pages will shrink and wrinkle," he said as he began to move the table over and began the long process of setting some of the books on it, slipping paper towels between every few sheets to help absorb the water before setting them on their ends.
"You study magic?"
Reply
"That's very true, yes." Wrinkly pages were never good, in Twilight's opinion. Why, you couldn't see the words!
She nodded to his question, however, nudging a few books into the sunshine with her muzzle. "Mmhm. All unicorns have the potential to use magic, but we have to study hard to advance in spells and stuff."

"Hmm, I'm not really sure. We learn different spells, but as far as types, well, not that I know of."

"I apologize if I'm being too intrusive. In my world, there are myths and legends of unicorns, though whether they really exist I couldn't say. But the tales say that they only appeared to fair maidens and their horns had the power to heal any illness."

Twilight sighed; that was going to be quite a chore, as some of her entries were quite detailed.
"But it's 'unicorn magic', I guess." She closed her eyes and concentrated, her horn beginning to glow softly. "Most unicorns have the ability, but we have to practice really hard to become proficient."

"I see...so it's not so much different than a witch," he murmured more to himself, though still loud enough for Twilight to hear. "I wonder if it's possible for you to learn spells from other worlds."

Suddenly thinking of something, she stomped a hoof lightly and from the table, an ink pen lifted and with it, a small notepad. The pen began to write on the paper and finished with a flourish.
"There!" Twilight said with a smile. "I almost forgot to add that to my list."

"For a unicorn, you live rather similarly to humans it almost seems like. At least you've managed to get around using utensils."
