[he's almost caught off balance when Haruhi suddenly reached for him, actually taking a step back so that they didn't topple over as his arms immediately went around her.

there's a moment where a pained expression crosses his face. he hated seeing her like this and they were making so much progress.

pressing his face into her hair, he hugged her just a little tighter.]

Haruhi, it's okay. We'll make it through this.

[he then smiled a little as he pulled back just a bit.]

I even brought back some ear plugs for you.

[there's a sense of relief that comes with his presence, but after that first round of thunder the day before and that it's just continuing on she'll just be trembling with fear and not letting go. there's a part of her that almost wants to cry-with fear, with frustration, she just really doesn't like any bit of this.

He might be pulling back but she's just pressing closer, nodding her head against his chest. That's about as much as she can get out for the moment.]

[he really doesn't want to let her go. it was hard enough the first time when he went out to get the others. he had wanted to stay with her, but he was also worried about everyone else. plus he could get the ear plugs.
