rising waters

Jun 25, 2011 13:24

The rain had continued to pour non-stop for twenty-four hours, worsening during the late night hours. By mid-morning, those who were awake would discover the streets already flooded by almost a foot of the strange, dark water-as well as the houses and all other buildings ( Read more... )

[Draco does not look happy. He's curled up in a small ball on the roof of the church, casting charms at the rising water to keep it away from him, but it's clear that it's been failing a bit. Poor thing's soaked and nearly hysterical.]

I do believe this might be worse than when this place turned into a bloody jungle.

Help.

[ Insert Indiana Jones music here. ]

Hang on, Draco!

[ Harry looks as if he was either already planning this or heading out for his own escape. Thankfully the boy had the sense to take his broom with him as he flies off in the pouring rain. ]

I'm hanging on. [shut up, Harry; he didn't have the time to grab his broom before he left. He ends up having to stand at some point in time, water still seeping into his shoes despite the constant drying and repelling charms he's casting.]

[ Thankfully Harry's cottage isn't that far away from the church, especially considering he's flying at top speed. He spots Draco stranded very much like a cat in a tree, and where's Mille? Hopefully Draco's adoptive father is alright. ]

Draco! [ He flies close and reaches out a hand to pull Draco onto the broom. ]

[this is oddly familiar. Either way, Draco reaches up, snagging Harry's hand, and manages to hoist himself onto the broom behind him. It's not that difficult a move, but in the rain, weighed down by water, it's a bit hard.]

Took you bloody long enough. [and he's clinging to Harry for dear life.] Are you all right?

[ Saddly there are no fireworks to accompany this night time ride. Lucky for Draco, Harry's one of strong arm so he helps hoist Draco on behind him. Once he's situated he takes off into the pouring rain. Though really where were they supposed to go?]

I should be asking you that.

I look like a damned drowned rat, I was trapped on my roof for...Merlin only knows how long...and you're asking me if I'm all right? Bit of a stupid question.

I'll be better when I'm out of this rain. [clinging. clinging.]

You know you like it. sonuvasnitch June 27 2011, 06:26:50 UTC
[ Harry smiles a bit. Typical of you to complain, but really he can't blame the blond. This rain is anything but ordinary. Still it seems like the worse they have to worry about is the rising water. Until a new breed of monster makes it's appearance on the horizon. ]

Bloody hell...

What the hell is that?! [Draco's maybe incredibly shrill in Harry's ear at this point. This is not how he wanted the day to go.]

Hang on! [ Harry swings the broom sharply to the side as the monster makes a shrill cry. One of it's tentacled arms comes crashing down, inches from where Harry had just been on his broom. This day was proving to get worse by the second. ]

[between the creature's shrieks and Draco's constant, hysteric mutterings of Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, we're going to die, oh my God, it's clear that things were already going downhill. The blond would pull out his wand, but with his luck, his hand was shaking too much to do anything besides drop it into the waters below. Not a risk he wanted to take.]

[Suddenly a rain of feathers crash into the creature and burst into flame causing it to dive back into the depths. Mille appears out of nowhere, standing balanced on his own broom, eyes closed and hands folded into a seal. Then he opens them and pulls the sash from his hair to call his armor forth right as the tentacles grab for him.]

Get out of here! Both of you! [Why yes, his voice is deeper and manly.]

and now you've blown Harry's brain thanks :|b sonuvasnitch June 27 2011, 16:55:47 UTC
[ Harry is momentarily stunned. He'd never seen Mille like t his before and really he's rather impressed. Being the hero he is, he wants to help, but trying to go for his wand now wouldn't be the easiest and he's more worried about getting Draco somewhere safe.

[ He urges the broom forward and is nearly blocked by another tentacle. Really this thing isn't giving up! ]

poor Harry's brain. it's always blown. mudbloodhater June 27 2011, 16:59:23 UTC
[well, Draco's seen this before (both the armour and the sudden appearances), so he's still shrieking at Harry to get out of there and listen to Mille, and delivering a terrified swat to Harry's shoulder. Not that it does much good, considering that tentacle.]

Mille = Master Mindblower prettyhazknight June 27 2011, 17:22:53 UTC
[Shifting the broom through the air, Mille throws another feather at the tentacle going after the boys. He knows that it leaves him defenseless for a moment but he doesn't care. Not even when he gets knocked straight into the water. Pushing off a tentacle, he jumps on them until he's out of the water, throwing more feathers that burst into flame.]

Harry! Get him out of here! Now!

Mille! [ Harry cries out as he watches Mille get tossed into the rolling black waves, but once he's out he doesn't need to be told twice. He turns the broom again and kicks it into high gear counting on all of his instincts to maneuver them away from the tentacles and the beast. ]
