There were benefits to living in a suit of armor; one of them was not having to feel the heat.
However, metal didn't really help with alleviating heat, and with the air conditioning broken, he'd been making his small apartment quite a few degrees hotter than it should've been. It wouldn't have been a problem if it weren't for the fact that his cats were beginning to hate him. (And little cat!Ed did look surprisingly - and frighteningly - like a certain blond-haired alchemist when he was cranky...)
So Al had decided it would be best to just take a walk outside, and allow the apartment to cool off by itself.
He was just about to turn around and head toward the library when he noticed a figure sitting nearby. First his father, and now... the major? At first, he just stood and stared. (A little unsure if he should approach or flee before the overenthusiastic major took notice of him...)
His first plan of staying put and trying to sleep didn't really quite 'work'. That heat was far from comfortable and he wasn't feeling sleepy - which was weird considering how tired he was just a couple of minutes ago. Maybe he was really dreaming.
With a shrug, Armstrong got up from the bench where he was sitting. No use hanging around that fountain. As he turned around to leave, he spotted the younger Elric brother from the corner of his eyes.
"Hm? Alphonse, is that you?" He called out loud, getting closer to the boy. For all he knew, that could be a mirage or illusion of sorts. After all, he was dreaming, wasn't he?
It looked like the Major had made Alphonse's decision on whether or not to stay and say hello very easy.
"M-major!" It wasn't that the boy didn't like the large state alchemist... it was just that... well... sometimes, he could be a bit much. And Alphonse wasn't quite sure yet where in their original timeline the Major had come from.
"Have you been here long?" He felt like he would've noticed if the Major had been a resident of Somarium for any period of time.
Alphonse really shouldn't worry (much). Armstrong wasn't exactly in the most enthusiastic mood at the moment and being in an unknown location made him a tad bit weary.
"Hm? What you mean here?" He crossed his arms, standing in front of Al.
"This is a dream, isn't it? I mean, it's all in my head." Because... it's just normal to actually acknowledge that you are in a dream and state that out loud. Totally normal.
No police, please! ^^candidate_no_12June 10 2011, 19:18:06 UTC
He was sneaking around, embracing the underworld to where he was permanently obliged to dwell should he want to retain his mobility. Therefore, he was hiding in the rabbit fountain when a very familiar ex-subordinate materialized on a bench near the rabbit fountain.
Yet someone else from Amestris. Depending on what that human had seen or heard, the Homunculus guessed he might cause trouble if he revealed himself prematurely. Therefore, he pulled out his drenched eyepatch from his waterlogged coat and pulled it over his eye.
"A good day to you, Armstrong," the eyepatch-wearing old man greeted from just under the water. Prior to emerging partially from the water, he made certain that there were no enemies in the vicinity.
*giggles* I know XDhates_shirtsJune 10 2011, 23:48:01 UTC
Now, if Armstrong wasn't already considering all that as a dream, seeing Bradley emerge from that fountain completely out of nowhere like that would just do the trick.
"Si-Sir, if you don't mind me asking... why are you inside the fountain?"
He didn't know why he was asking. Dreams had no rhyme nor reason, so that was probably his mind just fooling around.
Hehe, I know you know! ^^ <3 I meant for other people who might not know ^^candidate_no_12June 12 2011, 12:25:58 UTC
Wrath through a partially-closed eye rapidly discerned if Armstrong was looking at him any differently than usual--with greater unease, with pretended loyalty. Apparently not. Armstrong still looked at him with real loyalty. Good. The human seemed to have no knowledge of his identity. Then all Wrath had to do was to play along. He pulled on his mask of the old eccentric.
"I'm just enjoying the fine summer's day, Major," Wrath chuckled from inside the fountain. "Why don't you relax as well..?"
It's not like he wasn't a little bit suspicious about his superior, but that certainly wasn't the time to ponder or worry about such a thing.
And... Armstrong knew Bradley could be a little bit weird at times, but that was just too much, even for him. If that wasn't a dream, he would be severely worried about the other man's sanity.
"Sir, with all due respect, I think there are better ways to enjoy sunny days like these."

[ A newcomer! That always made Morrigan happy, especially if it was a cute man. She hovered her way towards him and went back to the ground as she gently placed her hand on his arm. ]

Maybe the heat was getting to him after all.
