Growing up in the slums honestly had affected her more than she might have let on. She wasn't really use to going to fancy restaurants or anything like that. In fact she could remember that first 'date' she had with Zack being in the middle of that dilapidated park and had she enjoyed herself there? of course, because to her it wasn't really where they were going that mattered, but who she was going with.
"Well I know we're going to dinner, silly. I meant where are we going that's such a surprise?" she nudged him playfully and chuckled, "I'm sure it's nice, whatever it is."
She wasn't well acquainted with them, but since she walked around town a lot and spoke to many of the people that worked at said respectable establishments, she at least recognized them as they passed. Honestly, her expectations were never the highest. Not because of Snake, but simply because, well, that was how she was. She just enjoyed going out and enjoyed it even more so if she was out with company.
When they rounded the corner and he announced their arrival, she paused, looked around and then smiled rather fondly, "This is a surprise." A good one, obviously, "You really shouldn't have, David."
