Eas is planning another attack on Somarium, and it's up to you to stop her!
This is a planning post for the event, which will happen (appropriately) on Friday the 13th. The event is Open To Everyone, and details follow under the cut for those who want to participate and defend Somarium! Please let me know if you'll be participating!
- The Attack: Eas will create a Nakewameke monster out of a poker chip she snagged from 1920s Somarium during Moon Cycle 63. Like most Nakewameke monsters, it's fifteen feet high, humanoid and has a robotic theme going on. Since it was created from a poker chip it'll have a gambling theme, and be able to shoot things like explosive playing cards and giant roulette balls at you. That's not the most dangerous part though.
As it was created from a remnant of the AU event, the Nakewameke will emit a peculiar "1920s" aura around itself, in a radius of 30ft. The aura will have three main effects:
1) The colours of the surrounding area within the aura will become faded and dull, just like Somarium did during the AU event.
2) Characters within the aura who participated in the AU event may find that the memories of their AU selves are stirred to the surface. It's up to the individual player how much this affects their character. Some may simply recall their time in 1920s Somarium, while others may have the personality traits of their AU selves affect their judgement.
3) This is the big one: characters within the aura will have their supernatural powers restricted and be reduced to the power level they were at during the AU event. This essentially means that the aura will act as a massive anti-magic field for the majority of characters. Leaving the aura will immediately switch all of your powers back on, and the aura will not stop any ranged magical powers that are cast outside of it from getting in. This will not affect characters that did not participate in the AU event.
Like before, Eas' goal is simply to have the Nakewameke rampage within Somni and cause as much pain and suffering as possible. Obviously, defeating some of Somarium's heroes in the process will contribute to that goal quite nicely.
- The Fight: The event will be open to any character in Somarium who wishes to fight or participate in any other way. If your character isn't a fighter, maybe he/she gets involved in a different way, such as ferrying NPC civilians to safety or trying to talk Eas down. Multi-player threads and The Power Of Teamwork is greatly encouraged! The battle will be a back-and-forth between you and the Nakewameke until enough damage has been done, though clever tactics will deal some critical damage to the monster!
Though Eas will be present at the battle, she will not take part in the actual battle except to give orders to the Nakewameke. She will not fight unless pressured to by an opponent, and even then she has little interest in getting her hands dirty. Defeating Eas or causing her to retreat will not stop the Nakewameke (and in fact may leave it free to rampage unchecked) so having your characters target Eas instead of the Nakewameke is discouraged.
Even though there will be a lot of separate threads, for the sake of continuity it is assumed that everyone is fighting it at the same time, and the Nakewameke will fall thanks to a combined effort from everyone who participates.
This is an unofficial event run by myself, and I have the A-OK of the Somarium mods to go ahead with it. If there are any questions, then I'll do my best to answer them here!
