I hear you about running. I hate it lots and lots.
I have been trying lots and lots of things this year that I have hated forever but am trying to give them another chance. Like Oatmeal (gross!), mushrooms (ewww!!!), and philosophy (oh geeze.) I can't tell if its made me a better person, of if I still just hate them...
I can understand your frustration. I used to be an awesome swimmer, my dad always said I was part fish. Then all my ear stuff happened and I spent a decade out of the water. When I got back in I found out I was slow and sub-par, haha.
It can be a blow when you think you are good at something but it turns out you really aren't. I commend you going out and challenging yourself, that's the only way to get better. Good luck!
