Title: Five Things That Happened After Russ Moved In With Aaron
Pairing: Aaron Hill / Russ Adams (TOR)
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This fake, and probably pretty AU since Russ got sent down last season.
Notes: Dude, this was so cute that I was getting sick from re-reading it and I think that's the farthest I can go without going crazy. Some of the sentences are awkward, but this is not a paper so I'm quite happy with it. No prof telling me I got C- for this or whatever. I wrote them finally and now I am happy that I wrote something until the next time I'll write something. Or something like that. Un-locking it later so RSS feed won't pick it up.

01. Toothbrush

Aaron wakes up groggily and dragged himself into the bathroom. He picked up his toothbrush with his right hand and toothpaste with this left. He twisted the cap off from the tube and was about to squeeze the tube when he realized something wasn't right.

This wasn't this toothbrush. He blinked a few more times and was now sure it really wasn't his toothbrush. His was still on the stand.

"What are you doing with my toothbrush?" A voice came behind Aaron and took the toothbrush away from his grasp.

Aaron grinned and shook his head. He still hadn't got used to Russ living with him, sharing his bed, sharing his bathroom -- and sharing his life. He was so used to just grabbing the only toothbrush there that he had forgotten to look. He grinned again and kissed Russ on the lips before picking up his own toothbrush and squeezing toothpaste on it.

Russ cocked his head to the side, with a puzzled look on his face, definitely not sure what just happened here, but took the tube as Aaron passed it to him and just smiled back.

02. Leftovers

Aaron's stomach was growling at him. It was only 3 in the afternoon, too early for dinner, too late for lunch. He headed to the kitchen to look for some food. He swung the refrigerator door open and bent over to find something, anything, to eat.

He was pretty sure there was some leftover Chinese food he stuck in the fridge, but he looked, and looked, and it was nowhere to be found. He must have finished it or else it would still be here. He closed the fridge door and realized he could just drink some juice or milk or whatever until dinner.

So he pulled the door open again and scratched his head. He was sure that he still had a bottle of juice somewhere in there. It shouldn't be expired yet, right? Or what about that apple he half-finished? He was eating that but then stopped since he had to go to the bathroom right away. Then he didn't feel like eating it anymore, so he threw it back into the fridge.

'Huh. This is weird,' he thought.

Russ saw Aaron's confused expression. "What?"

"There's nothing in the fridge to eat! I was sure that I had those leftover Chinese... or that bottle of orange juice I opened."

"Or that half-eaten apple, and that milk, or that spaghetti?"

Aaron nodded slowly.

"I threw them out a few days ago already. Your apple turned all brown and black, all your drinks are expired and I don't even want to describe what happened to your spaghetti."

Aaron's stomach grumbled again and he grinned cheekily.

Russ rolled his eyes and sighed. "I'll make something, okay?"

"Yes! Thank you," Aaron replied happily.

He knew there was a reason Russ moved in with him.

03. Post-Game

Vernon just hit a walkoff and both him and Reed both scored to win the game, that and because they came from behind for the win. None of the guys were worrying about sleep or tomorrow's game at the moment. They were all tired and exhausted but were still running on that rush of adrenaline from the walkoff win.

Reed grabbed Aaron and gave him a giant bear hug, knocking the wind out of Aaron. "Come on, we're all going out for drinks."

Aaron coughed and extracted himself away from Reed's arms. "What, your treat?"

"You wish, kid. C'mon, we're leaving right about,” Reed looked over to the rest of the guys, “... now." Reed pushed Aaron into the horde of teammates. Aaron almost left with the guys but halted immediately as a dejected Russ caught his eyes.

Russ was benched for the game. Gibby wasn't happy with his performance lately and Aaron knew Russ had been kicking himself over and over again for that error he made a few games ago. He stood there and watched Russ as Russ shook his head at Vernon, probably declining Vernon's offer to go to the bar. Vernon patted Russ's shoulder and walked away, catching up with the guys who left the clubhouse without him.

"Hey," Aaron called out to Reed, "you guys go ahead. I'll catch up with you later."

Reed scowled but didn’t argue any further. "Fine. You know where you're going right?"

Aaron rolled his eyes. "We always go to the same place."

Reed mumbled something in reply and headed off out the clubhouse.

Aaron waited until all the guys filed out before walking over to where Russ was sitting and took a seat next to him.

He sat there in silence, not sure what to say. He knew this feeling all too well. So he placed his hand on Russ's and gave it a light squeeze. "Hey, let's go home."

Russ tensed up and turned to face Aaron. "Aren't you going out to celebrate with the guys?"

Aaron shook his head. "Nah, it's not as fun when you're not around getting wasted and me laughing at you." He grinned. "Come on, let's get out of here."

Aaron stood up and extended his hand to Russ. Russ held onto Aaron's hand tightly and let himself be pulled up next to Aaron. "Thanks." Russ gave Aaron a sheepish smile and followed him out. He would be back tomorrow, but right now there was another place he rather be - home.

04. The Party

The guys picked Aaron's place for their upcoming party/gathering thing. Aaron was dreading it when he found out they were going over to his place. He was already making a mental list of the things he need to put away right after he found out.

He saw Russ looking at him from across the room and the annoying boy was stifling a laugh. He glared back and scowled. Russ seemed to be having a laugh at Aaron's misfortune, even though Russ was a part of it.

Aaron would have to take down and put away all the pictures of him and Russ. It would definitely be too obvious if he left them around his apartment. Then there were the bathroom toiletries or the fact that his apartment only had one room and that would be pretty obvious too.

Russ walked over to where Aaron was standing and rose his eyebrow. Russ poked Aaron's cheek a few times. "Hey, show the guys a smile. We all know it's a hassle and no one wants to host it. But it's our turn."

"Not *our* turn. My turn. I don't know what we're going to do when it gets to *your* turn." Aaron grabbed Russ's finger and pushed it away. "Stop poking me. I'm just making a list of things we need to put away when they come over."

"Calm down, hunnybunny," Russ whispered to Aaron and then laughed. "There's still awhile before they come over, we'll get it done."

Aaron made a face and Russ kept laughing. "Easy for you to say."

"Hey. We're in the same boat here, so stop worrying about it, okay?"

Russ walked away but stopped and turned back to Aaron. "I could always tell Vernon that," he wiggled his finger motioning himself and Aaron, "so my turn could be skipped."

Aaron's jaw dropped, at that moment wasn't thinking that Russ could actually be joking.

"Kidding!" Russ gave him a little wave and walked away, leaving Aaron still shocked and slowly recovering.

Vernon tilted his head, confused. "What did you have to tell me?"

05. Waking Up

Aaron really enjoyed having home games rather than away games. He didn't really care for it before. But now was different. He woke up and turned his head to see that Russ was still sleeping soundly. This was what made it different.

They roomed together on the road, but that was different too. Now that Russ moved in with him, he got to wake up to Russ's sleeping form every morning. (He always woke up earlier than Russ, partly to catch Russ still sleeping and partly because he just wakes up early.) And even before that, home was only a place he used to sleep, but he could do that on the road on a hotel bed too.

Aaron slowly adjusted his body so that he could prop his head on this elbow and watch Russ sleep without waking him up. He pretty much mastered that by now. He smiled sweetly as Russ slowly breathed in and out and he watched Russ's chest rose up and down, up and down.

This time Aaron didn't have to wake Russ as Russ woke up by himself, he was glad for that. He hated waking up Russ.

Russ whispered a quiet 'Good Morning' to Aaron and sighed happily. Aaron pressed his lips against Russ's and could feel Russ smiling against his lips.

This was definitely the best part of the day.
