1. Two Weeks Notice (2002) January 01 [dvd] ★★★
   What a way to ring in the new year by watching this AGAIN for the third time in 2009, but we finished in the new year so I'm tossing this over to this.
   
2. Star Trek (2009) January 02 [dvd] ★★★★1/2
   Sleepover at cousins. It's much better a second time around AND with subtitles. Loved the extra features.
   
3. Hot Fuzz (200x) January 02 [dvd] ★★★★
   Continued with this movie, the extra features are cool. The subtitles make it much better too.
   
4. Aladdin (199x) January 02 [vhs] ★★★1/2
   The next day is old disney movie on video. I've only seen it once beforehand and that was years ago. We were surprised it had subtitles too! The movie was much shorter than I remembered and less distressing.
   
5. Up in the Air (2009) January 04 ★★★★
   While I liked the movie a lot, I found it to be quite unsatisfying for some reason.
   
6. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball (2009) January 08 ★★★★
   Do not watch this on an empty stomach, I'm so hungry right now. The animation is adorable.

   This is the first ever time I've seen the movie entirely, ikr. I knew most of the songs for some reason though, which tells you how influential this movie is.
   
9. It's Complicated (2009) January 13 ★★ 1/2
   I wish the movie was shorter. It was 2 hours long! The kids didn't do much but I loved JKras in it.
   
10. The Little Mermaid (1989) January 13 ★★★
    I thought it was time for me to re-watch old Disney movies, so I watched this one. The older I get, the worst this movie is to me... or if I can enjoy the movie if I pretend the movie isn't problematic at all.
    
11. An Education (2009) January 17 ★★★★1/2
    It was absolutely brilliant and heartbreaking. I think halfway through the movie I knew what was going to happen but you just want to keep watching and hope for the best.
    
12. Sherlock Holmes (2009) January 19 ★★★1/2
    I would love to see a sequel to it but overall it was ummmm. Definitely worth the watch but I think I might be sick of mystery/crime-solving shows.
    
13. The Invention of Lying (2009) January 23 ★★★
    Very interesting concept and plot, but execution was definitely poor. Ricky Gervais is hilarious, but not enough to carry the film. I enjoyed seeing all the cameos and roles by stars.
    
14. Whip It (2009) January 29 ★★★★
    The movie was very intense and exhilarating. I think it was Kristen Wiig's interview with Conan that she talked about the movie and they all did their own skating, which they ended up with major bruises and broken bones. That sealed the deal for me.
    
15. Shaun of the Dead (2004) January 30 ★★★1/2
    Now that it's a second rewatch, it doesn't seem as good as I thought it would, compared to rewatchiing Hot Fuzz. It's definitely still a good watch.

    A very intense movie. Dragged in bits. Also confusing in bits.
    
17. Persuasion (2007) February 07 ★★★1/2
    Everything was good until the latter part of the movie. I love the tension between the two main characters.
    
18. Princess and the Frog (2009) February 08 ★★★
    I very much enjoyed the music and the 2D animation, but it definitely dragged too much in the middle.

    I'm not sure if it was the plot/story, but I thought the entire thing was very silly.

    Like the film above, I'm not sure if it's the plot, but the film was weird.

    A rewatch in the midst of an Austen binge of mediocre films, I had to watch something familiar and good.

    After watching the newer version, I had to watch the older one to compare. The appearance (though probably more to the truth to Austen-era) were distracting. /random shallowness

    I watched this with the commentary on for the first time. It was still lulzy.

    In order to celebrate the Sandra Bullock win, I had to watch a old movie of hers that I have not seen. Thus this. What is this I don't even. I enjoyed it???
