He described the werewolves as 'soulless, evil, deserving nothing but death
So this is the mentality Ron would have grown up with, probably - perhaps a bit less harshly, I can't see the Weasleys being that militant, but even so, it explains a lot. I love Molly and Arthur, but I have a feeling when the kids came home and said "our professor was a werewolf" their reaction was something they would... rather regret when Remus became their friend. :/
I wonder how long it took Lyall to completely wash away that belief? I mean, the bio makes it clear he tried to help Remus right away so I don't think Lyall ever thought for a minute it applied to his son, but I'd be interested to know how quickly his view changed. Was Remus just an exception at first, or did he instantly realize all werewolf bites must happen like that, thus they couldn't all be soulless? It's definitely something to ponder.
Sorted into Gryffindor House, Remus Lupin was swiftly befriended by two ( ... )

Then of course, Remus's personality being the same, not wolfish, must have made him feel so guilty too...and realise how foolish he was being.
As for R/T...well...we've had this conversation with R/T before, but I am more and more, the older I get, the maturer I become (har-de-har) I feel that the decisions with R/T were a bit...meh.
That and I don't think it helps that shimoski's fic for them has become my head-canon, dating during Order broken up during HBP and getting back together so the marriage doesn't feel so rushed...
I think Remus would of had to of grovelled to Tonks forever - and Andromeda for that matter...
I think Andromeda would be furious! >.>

I'd really like to know what Andromeda's relationship with Remus was. Remus says Andromeda and Ted didn't want their daughter marrying him because he was a werewolf, but given Andromeda's own rebellion I somehow find that hard to believe - I always figured it was his own insecurities coming into play. I can imagine Andromeda being worried about logistics, a young woman marrying a much older man with an illness is something I think most parents would be wary about, but I doubt it was harsher than that. I can imagine she was pissed if Tonks ever told her, though.

Maybe Andromeda and Ted were okay with it, but they were more concerned with the fact that this man had broken their daughters heart during HBP and made her so unhappy...and then seemed distant and panicky again even after marriage?
As a parent I'm sure i'd just be majorly concerned...and with everything else going on, Ted going into hiding - Ted dying. You know, a lot is going on :(
