Amelia woke to the sound of talking, she was back in her house, she saw her things littered across the living room, her little pink teddy bear lay on the sofa and rubbed her eyes. She realised that all of a sudden there were a lot of people in her house, people she didn't know. Where were her mummy and daddy? Where was the man gone who'd got her sausages, and the lady with the angry hair?
All of a sudden, there she was, kinder than she was last time but tired looking. “Hello Amelia, it's Dora. How are you feeling?”
Amelia bit her lip, her wrist still hurt and she was scared, unable to understand but instead she felt her eyes well up. She wanted her mummy, where was she?
“Where is my mummy?” Amelia asked, “I...I want my mummy.”
The lady with angry hair didn't look as angry as before. Actually she looked sad, very sad and her hair looked sad too. “I'm sorry little one, you can't see her.”
“Can I see her later?”
“No, she's gone away with your daddy...but you'll see them again, when you're much older.”
“But I want to see her now!” Amelia demanded through little tears, unable to understand why they would leave her behind, she had been good hadn't she? Was it to do with the doggie? She was sorry that she ever didn't finish all her dinner or didn't tidy her toys, she wanted her mummy to come back and tell her it was all okay.
Being a mother herself, all Dora wanted to do was hug and hold the little girl that seemed so devastated that she'd been left behind, but what she didn't expect was suddenly the three pillows that had sat on the sofa suddenly flew across the room, one of them hitting one of the training auror's in the gut.
She ducked a pillow that aimed for her head and the surprise of the pillow flying even made Amelia stop looking so red faced. Dora gave her an interested look and Amelia covered her face with her little hands. She didn't know how she knew she had did it - but she knew he had and that much was obvious who her embarrassment.
“Amelia, have you done that before?” Dora asked softly.
Amelia, her face still covered shook her head, wanting to cry and Dora turned to one of the other aurors with a frown. “Could you check Amelia's birth certificate for me, that and if her parents seemed to report and magical activity in the house? We also need to know if she has any magical relatives...”
It would make sense as to why the little girl hadn't died like her parents, if she was a muggleborn witch.
That and who could take care of Amelia? If she only had muggle relatives, then she had to be taken away into care of the magical world. She would only harm more family members and they would likely be unable to help with her transformations.
“Tonks” came a voice from the door, another young auror looking a little smug as he wondered in. “The Minister is here to see you, he's upstairs.”
Dora, looking to Amelia, squeezed her hand. “I'll be right back little one, if you have any questions this nice man will help you...” she pointed to the auror who had just walked in.
The smug auror frowned, but didn't disagree, maternity leave or not Nymphadora Lupin was his superior and Dora couldn't help but give a little smile, Little Amelia was a rather interesting girl to say the least.

Kingsley Shacklebolt was standing in the hallway to the crime scene, most of it had been taken care of, the parents now in body bags but it still appeared a disaster. When Dora joined him he was frowning, looking at the dried blood on the floor.
“Didn't think you'd want to visit” Dora said, calmly, she tried to avoid looking at the blood, playing with her fingers.
“Considering the circumstances, and the recent campaign we've been making for werewolf sufferers, this isn't good for morale...” he said softly, he turned to face her. “I was told you were the first here, I thought you'd be at home...”
Dora raised her shoulders in a shrug then slipped her hands in her pockets playing it cool, “Remus had Teddy this morning both sleeping angels and really I needed a walk, miss being on the beat, and I noticed something wasn't quite right. Call it Auror's intuition.”
The Minister frowned, but said nothing in regards to it, “And we have no witnesses?”
Dora shook her head, “Only piece of evidence we have is the child herself and the muggle neighbour who said she heard shouting and barking, she told us that she thought that the family had got a rather disobedient dog and didn't think anything more of it. She's had her memory obliviated already but it's all down in the report.”
He nodded again, then sighed, “And the little girl? Her bite?”
“Normally I would say it was a killer wound but after her little act downstairs I'm starting to suspect she's a muggleborn witch - her bite has healed pretty quickly to say the least it's a wonder she survived where her parents didn't. She will be a werewolf though come the next full moon, that much is clear.”
Kingsley ran a hand over his face, “I know it's a lot to ask of you, but if you could take little Amelia home? If Remus is happy with it could he help her with her first moon until we arrange other care for her? We need to keep this quiet or the press is going to have a field day...”
Dora nodded, “Of course, I'll let her grab her things.” She said and went to turn away, relived that her plan had seemed to go smoothly for now...
She froze mid thought and turned back, “And if we find the werewolf who did this?” she asked Kingsley watched her carefully.
“When we find them, we'll give them a fair trial of course, but the law does stand, and for a good reason. A werewolf that intentionally or not intentionally murders and or marks another is to be sentenced the minimum of life in Azkaban. We will do everything to find out the truth, and we can appeal to the masses but no one is going to want a person who didn't control the wolf living so freely amongst us without punishment.”
She hoped she didn't show it, but her heart sunk. Remus deserved punishment, she knew in the scheme of things he was getting away with something so horrible, but he was going to punish himself enough for the rest of his life that he had allowed this to happen and cause pain to a child...wouldn't that be punishment enough?
“Understood, I'll speak to Remus about Amelia's care, I'm sure he'll be happy to help.”
