To John, Jaina'd been acting weird, but he was blaming himself for that and working to show her how healthy and capable he was, even if it was stretching the truth a little.

"More like what?" John asked, following her into his room and dumping his things on the floor.

"I have no idea, it's just what people say," she said, putting her stuff down against a wall. "It sounded good."

John toed off his shoes, glad he didn't need to bend down to unlace them. "It sounded like the opening to a Holiday Inn Express commercial."
