Micas stood in the doorway a moment, not certain if her presence would be interrupting something. But Nei'ess needed to eat sometime today, and she was not entirely certain he would bother to if she did not make it very easy for him to think of it.

So she entered with a smile for him, two long-legged strides putting her kneeling beside him and offering the fish and water she had brought with an entreating gaze.

Nei'ess blinked, opening his eyes to look at the real world in front of him instead of the equally detailed vision in his head. Coming out of his reading trance was not unpleasant this time as he was greeted by Micas and her eternal kindness. He returned her smile with one of his own, taking the food from her a bit sheepishly as he honestly had forgotten to eat again.

He wanted to thank her, but words and conversation were as difficult as always. He opted for setting the food aside for a moment and giving her a big hug before taking the food up again and actually eating (to prove to her that he wouldn't forget again), the words Thank you, Micas appearing in the air as well.

Micas smiled and returned the hug happily. Those were three words she knew. Ones that had only ever been uttered by one person in her life before Solluna. And in using her old name, rather than Vanadevi, the comparison between Nei'ess and the kindness of her previous pack leader was made all the more apparent.

And he was warm, something her tired mind clung to as she settled back beside him with a contented little purr. It was not that she had difficulty falling asleep when it was cold. Quite the opposite. But there was always the tiny fear that she might not wake back up if it wasn't warm enough. Sleeping with a heat source help alleviate that fear. She was even getting used to hearing other hearts than her own beating, and it was a soothing sensation.

There was something in the way Vanadevi stayed close that made Nei'ess pause. An unconscious action, seeking something... He blinked and tilted his headat her.

Are you cold? He accompanied the words with a picture of the tall woman looking ridiculously cold, with shivering and snow and other things, and then wrapping the image in an illusionary blanket. Her company was one of the few ones that did not bother him. She was so passively there. Like a tree in a park, calming and adding a breath of fresh air whether you noticed it or not.

Micas blinked at his picture of her, the portrait of winter teaching her what the new word meant. Cold. Yes. It is always cold here.

She nodded, pointing to the shivering representation of herself, then traced out the letters he had taught her to mean "and/also" with her index finger in the air. Then she tucked her hands up under her tilted head and closed her eyes in a pantomime of sleepiness that did not take a lot of imagination to believe.

"Cold" she tried tracing out the letter shapes to see if she remembered them. "Cold making big big sleeping. Vanadevi little sleeping good. Not good big sleeping."
