Jul 13, 2008 01:46

Character(s): Ghost, Richie.
Content: Ghost shows Richie around, gets to know him better, and probably talks too much about the others.
Setting: One of the houses Ghost pointed out.
Warnings: It's Ghost. Language is probably present.

Y'know, honetly? This place isn't so bad. Better than getting smeared across the landscape by a monster...Then again, monsters ain't so rare here as to not be a problem. )

It didn't take long for both Richie and Pritz to slip right back in to old habits. He was already sizing up the place as they entered, and Pritz had her nose working over time at every possible corner and object. The place was far more secure than Richie had expected, but it made far less work for him in the long run, and even long running survivalists liked to have a break now and then.

Ghost seemed to be enjoying his job as welcoming party a bit too much, but Richie wasn't about to fault the man. Finding joy where one could in such situations was often times the only way to keep going and not go completely crazy.

Then again, Ghost was probably already half way there...

"Its good, man. Thanks."

"Cool...So....I guess I'm your unofficial welcoming party as a whole. Which I take to mean I should feel free to answer any questions to have. I'll try my best, so why don't you gimme your best shot?"

Ghost dropped onto the floor with a thud, sitting Indian style with crossed legs. He was pretty comfortable standing, but those dizzy spells were really getting annoying. Stupid gravity.

Following behind Pritz as she sniffed each of the windows, Richie checked them himself, pressing fingers against the frames and feeling wood creak beneath, but not give or snap. Everything seemed pretty well secure, not that he doubted Ghost's assertion, and he figured that even if it wound up being temporary, it was the best set up he'd had in years.

"Well, really the only question I even have any more is 'Why are we here', but I get the feeling that's something not even the ones who have been here a while know," he admitted with a thoughtful, faint frown, moving to a slightly dusty arm chair that he flopped in to, raising a cloud from its sides.

"I'm not going to throw a fit about it, though. I'm pretty 'roll with the punches' about life, and I figure there's no use screaming at non existent sky gods or whatever might be responsible for it."

"If we were talking the existential "Why", I'd say we were either being saved or punished for past transgressions. I have enough of 'em, I'd say, to account for my place in this. But as for the official, card-carrying, honest to Whatever "why", your guess is as good as mine."

Ghost grunted and let his arms drop, just sort of...staring past Richie.

"But, it's better than being dead. Seems most of us here, from what I know, are, or should be, goners where we came from. But, I digress. Consider me your font of knowledge about our fellow survivors. While my sanity and methods may be a wee bit...Questionable...I will say that I've done my share of intel gathering as a whole in the past. Then again, we all have our secrets..."

"I guess I'm weird in that sense," Richie admitted softly, fiddling with his fingers until Pritz came to lay beside him, her muzzle resting on his leg as a demand for pets that he quickly complied to. "I don't have any secrets, at least none of those major ones that would be earth shattering in some people's eyes. My whole life up until the meteor was really simple. My brothers weren't the best people around, didn't live the best life, but its not like anything happened aside from the occasional police showing up at our door step."

He waved his other hand in the air as if to dismiss any of it, and let a wry, joking grin split his features again.

"So, aside from tall, dark and brooding, the supposed demon chick, and Phantasy, are there any other girls around here I should keep a look out for?"
