Akame!! I've turned into one of THOSE fangirls

Every time somebody starts a post with 'Hi, everybody' I think of the Simpsons and want to reply 'Hi, Dr. Nick!' ...I'm probably the only one.

Excited about jthreesome though kind of nervous because I'm not a OT3 shipper at heart. Definitely more of a OTP shipper which is entirely the point of this post. Recently, darkgloom wanted all there is to know about Akame so I linked her to this post on baidu, but, alas, she doesn't read Chinese. Shortcoming but we'll overlook that since I can't claim to know Japanese either. In an effort to keep from doing real work, I've sloppily translated some of it. Most (if not all) have been circulated before and, remember, these are rumors. From rabid Chinese fans, which should tell you something, but we can't let them have all the fun.


The beginning snippets from magazine interviews have been mostly all translated here. I won't get into it.

1. To start off with the most notorious (and LOL-inducing) rumor:

A Japanese fan gave Jin a joytoy, telling him to “please enjoy it with Kamenashi”. Jin’s response: “Thank you” with a completely straight face.

2. Trip to New York (for the New York photobook)

They were all given separate rooms in the hotel, but only Kame and Jin’s rooms were connected by a door. After they left, staff discovered that one bed looked like it had never been used.

This was also mentioned in some magazine interview: Kame’s a huge fan of baseball and so spent a lot of money to watch a game. He was very excited when he got back and went to find Jin (and Junno). He spent a long time in Jin’s room most likely recounting the game.

In an interview, Kame said that Jin bit his shoulder

In an interview, Jin said that he hid beneath Kame’s covers while playing hide and seek. After that, Kame also said that somebody climbed into his bed when he was half awake.

3. Summary 2004:

Kame’s father and Jin’s parents came to the show. They struck it off and chatted for a very long time. At the end, Kame got into Jin’s family’s car and left. (Another version of this rumor is that Kame was sitting in his father’s car at first but got off around halfway and climbed into Jin’s family’s car).

The person who posted that rumor also did an analysis of their route and distance. The two families are only fifteen minutes by foot away from each other (though belong to different school districts).

Kame had a flying part in Summary where he had to let go of the rope. Fan reports say that as Kame was being lifted up, Jin was standing by the stage entrance, staring at him. Only after Kame safely landed did Jin exhale and turn to talk to Pi.

4. Jin’s coming of age ceremony:

As he was descending the stage, he turned to Kame and said: “Twenty years and older, please still take care of me.” And Kame nodded, beaming.

5. During filming for Kindaichi:

Jin took Pin (his poodle) and Ran-chan (Kame’s dachshund) to the vet, then to the filming location where he was scolded by Kame, who said that it’s a distraction. So an abashed Jin had to wait in the car to take Kame home.

Evidence, thanks to Koki, has also come up that Jin and Kame purchased Pin and Ran-chan together

6. Before and after Jin’s birthday, he was seen walking out of a hotel with his arm around Kame’s waist. Jin went to Tokyo Tower with Kame on his birthday (not sure if it’s the same bday). T-TUN were also there but later only Kame and Jin proceeded to head up the tower.

7. During Gokusen II:

Kame didn’t have time to go home so he stayed over at Jin’s instead. The next day, the two of them headed off for filming together. There are others who say that, because the filming location was so far, the two of them rented a place to stay (at the time, Jin did say he wanted to live away from home).

A Japanese fan who’s friends with one of the Class 3D actors says that they were always together during breaks. A fan went to the filming location and saw them playing some tag-like game. At first, Kame was chasing Jin, but then, suddenly, he started running in the opposite direction, Jin fast on his heels.

During filming, Kame didn’t want to eat anything so Jin dragged him out to eat (this was also mentioned in a Music Station talk)

8. During Anego and 2005’s Dreamboy:

At the second showing where Kame played the lead, he was moved to tears at the end. Jin, who was filming Anego at the time, heard about it and was there for the third showing uncaring of any objections from JE.

During one of the interviews for Anego, Jin also said: “I’m most concerned about whether or not Kamenashi is eating well because his body isn’t that strong.”

Jin called Kame and said: “I have a kiss scene in the Anego SP”. To which Kame replied: “Ah, I know.”

Somebody saw Kame appear on the Anego set wearing Jin’s shirt. (Hence so many NGs for the kissing scene)

9. During Nobuta wo Produce and Volleyball support:

Jin wanted to take Kame to the shoot but was shot down

Fans saw Jin go to Nobuta’s set, get called over by Pi and exchange a few words before leaving (…this means he was checking up on Kame? He and Kame were fighting? Not sure how this relates to Akame)

Jin would visit Jimmy’s house a lot during this time period. It is said that Jimmy lives very close to Nobuta’s filming location.

During volleyball support, KAT-TUN took the Shinkansen home. Kame had to go film Nobuta so he got off before the others. Jin stood up and saw him to the door then stood there waving to Kame long after the door had closed. (Jin and Kame had been sitting together before. When tired, Kame put his head on Jin’s shoulder and slept).

10. During Sapuri:

Kame had all that long hair for Sapuri but couldn’t get it under control while filming for Utawara. He kept on messing with it during a break and didn’t like any of the results. Seeing this, Jin went over to help. He didn’t have a comb so he used his fingers instead, spending a lot of time styling Kame’s hair because Kame didn’t like anything he did either. Finally, Jin pulled Kame’s hair back in a bun, leaving some strands loose in front. Again, Kame complained that it was too much like a girl’s. Jin’s rebuttal: it’s cute, what does it matter?

11. Things that happened (supposedly. Supposedly) after Jin’s return:

At a station, a drunken Jin kissed Kame, who was supporting him. Not that this says much. Apparently, a drunken Jin is an inappropriately affectionate Jin. He’d kissed Shirota while drunk before too.

12. Fancams and fan reports:

August 8: Kame said: “I wrote the words to this solo (Natsu no Owari) myself. I really like this song.” Then Jin said, smiling: “It’s a very good song. I like it.”

Fan report from some unknown concert: After the lights went out, Kame climbed onto Jin’s back, thinking that nobody could see them.

Kaizokuban Con: During Junno’s dance, Kame and Jin sat on the stairs, conversing. Another time, also during Junno’s dance, Jin suddenly grabbed onto Kame’s upper arm and stretched. In response, Kame turned back and smiled at him.

During one MC, Kame was tired and didn’t feel like talking. He and Jin were standing in the middle of the stage, but Kame ran off to play with Nakamaru then went off by himself to the side. Jin kept on sneaking glances at Kame as he was talking, though, after Nakamaru came to say something to him, he stopped trying to include Kame in the conversation and talked until he was hoarse.

After the MC section in Kaizokuban, Kame would always stay on stage, making odd gestures. Then Jin would appear and carry him offstage.

During SMAP’s Sep 12 concert MC:
Shingo: Today, some very amazing people came!
Kusanagi: What? Is it Kanjani8?
Shingo: Nope.
Kusanagi: Then it’s Akakame?
Shingo: Also no.
Kusanagi: Actually, they look so much alike I can never tell the two apart.
