I've been having trouble falling asleep in my room lately. I've gone downstairs (especially during thunderstorms, which there have been MANY of in my area lately and there will most likely be more). Also, when you go out shopping: judging from my own personal experience, I would suggest getting a feel for the incense or herb first before you buy it. For instance, there are several different types of sage used for smudging. Not all of them will be agreeable to you. Just give them a sniff and see how it makes you feel. If you feel more calm, relaxed, or generally happier, try using that.

I agree with the others: there's nothing like a good smudging. Be sure to leave a window open so the energies have somewhere to escape (and so you can breathe if you have a small room!) Also Seconding PinkPolarity about chamomile tea. And of course there's warm milk. Before you sleep, also try to take a nice relaxing bath with some scented bathsalts. Lavender is a good choice. Perhaps put on some soft music, too. Also seconding rearranging your room. Change is always good.
