omething a friend of mine once told me is that the word pagan when originally translated, was defined as "the wrong way" . She couldn't give me source material for that "fact" since she had heard it from another girl on a forum she participates in.
I missed this part. As a general rule, dismiss hearsay. When I'm looking up information online, I look for the following:
1. A list of sources (bibliography). If the site only sources other websites, I keep on goin'. 2. A webhost that isn't geocities, tripod, angelfire, or any other "free" site. 3. A distinct lack of flashing, sparkly images. 4. The topics. The moment something says "Never again the Burning Times!" it raises red flags in my mind and, again, I move on to something else.
I haven't heard of that apparent definition of "pagan", and I'm in several communities that spend a lot of time chatting about words and definitions. Take a look at the memories of some of my communities to see what sort of discussions there are about the word "pagan".
yes but the beliefs I have been taught and following are from way back. The lady in the circle who first taught me had extensive family history and records and the first records she had stated that they were a written record of traditions passed down mother to daughter in their family for (direct quote) "a time beyond memory".
Also christianity derived a bit of their celebrations and holidays from "paganism" as a conversion technique to make "pagans" more comfortable converting.
Wicca isnt exactly the correct term for what I'm following. I'm sorry if I was misleading. :-)

Umm honey, being a mom, that could honestly mean anything from 1 minute to a few years. Something about becoming a mom, kinda kills our memory cells. I think it's the arguing that kids do.
I really have no words.....I know that doesn't help, but his whole complete...turn around about how he saw you is....heart breaking to say the least, a shock to say something else, and down right rude to say the most.
I just don't understand how people can flip a switch over religion. Something people have right to believe differently in, yet....
I don't know. I'm not good with words, but I can feel the hurt in your words and i'm truely sorry. I dearly hope, if nothing else, he goes and thinks about what he's said and done and eventually talks to you again...

Just FYI, Wicca is still a relatively new religion - it's not older than Christianity.
Still a pretty crappy situation to be in. My sympathies.
