Two questions on spells

1. What exactly are the guidelines for doing spells that affect other people? I've never done anything not for myself before, but my grandmother is in the hospital right now and I'd like to do a healing spell for her if possible. It's generally considered unethical to perform Magick for someone without their express consent (or, in the case of someone unable to give consent themselves, that of those closest to them who would know their feelings and preferences). As for the length of a spell, I was taught to work that in somehow; for example, I was pregnant at my wedding, and my due date was within a month of the event. So a bracelet was charged for me with "stay pregnant" energy, and was effective so long as I wore it. I went into labor roughly a week and a half after taking it off.

I also feel it's important to point out that the ethical advice gleaned from the Rede is just that, advice. It isn't a "thou shalt not statement" but instead encourages us to consider the consequences and ramifications of our actions, and evaluate if they would be in accordance with our Will, before going through with them. It doesn't tell us what to do or not to do, but advises that we make that decision for ourselves.

Go see your grandmother and tell her that u love her. fogwolf September 24 2013, 05:54:08 UTC
Tell her that u are thinking of her and sending ur prayers to help her. If she has issues with ur beliefs, leave it at that. If she doesn't have issues with your beliefs then tell her what u would like to do.
