"So came August to its close, ending its last day with a night so luminous and still...there are nights in summer when darkness and ebbing tide quiet the universal wind, and this August night was full of that quiet of absence and the sky was clear."

That's a beautiful extract =)

Good luck reading Paradise Lost ;) I have The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time and have been meaning to read it for ages so I think I'll do that soon if it's recommended.

I love that quote. It was originally in one of the calendars I get every year and it made me read the whole book. I always have to post it on that date. Hehe.

I'm trying to get to Paradise Lost. I've been reading so much else lately that I've had trouble working up the motivation. LOVE Curious Incident... It's an excellent and realistic look into the mind of a boy with autism and I think everyone, particularly educators, should read it because it enhances your understanding and empathy soooo much. Can you tell I'm a huge advocate for autism?

Paradise Lost! We read parts of it last year in my lit class. I enjoyed it. Once you get into the rhythm of it, it's not difficult to understand.

We read parts in one of my lit classes too, so I really want to read the rest of it. It's proving a challenge to find the motivation at the moment. Too many other things I want to read!
